SONS OF BILL With Sepia Colored Musing ‘EASIER’…

Relaxing musings for the laziest day of the week…

25 November 2018

Central Virginia’s spirited Americana band of brothers, SONS OF BILL released their newest longplayer Oh God Ma’am last June. A heartwarming work of gratifying romanticism. One of the sensitive beauties on it is EASIER. A tender rumination, a softhearted reflection. Graceful and poetical. Enjoy the sepia colored picture right here.

When you came behind the counter, you moved just like a marionette
Just a fragile apparition of a person that I once met
Seems like the world could see the skeleton beneath the skin
Another puritan who never lost the taste for sin

I always know when you’re in trouble by the color that you dye your hair
And the artificial lenses hiding all the thoughts that got you there
One day, they’ll fall like scales and let the light on through
And it will break my heart to see your brown eyes blue

When all the rain stops rattling the rooftops
After days of waiting for the other shoe to drop
When it’s easier
When it’s easier

Flip off the Zenith if it isn’t living up to its name
We’ll watch September fall to grays and brown and beige
Across the river, they’ll be living out their salad days
Tied to the mast and blowing faster as the chorus waves

When all the rain stops rattling the rooftops
After days of waiting for the other shoe to drop
When it’s easier
When it’s easier

When it’s easier
We won’t mind when it all comes down and the sun goes blind
When it’s easier
They’ll know that we were the vines that held the walls up right
For all this time

When all the rain stops rattling the rooftops
After days of waiting for the other shoe to drop
When it’s easier
When it’s easier
