Summer Of 1967 – June 25 That Day And This Day Is Global BEATLES Day

Every day of this summer we go back to the same summer day somewhere in history

26 June 2026

On 25 June 1967,  THE BEATLES went global via a live television broadcast
as part of the UK’s contribution to the Our World event. They performed
their new single ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE in the EMI studios in London.

The programme was broadcast via satellite and seen
by an audience of over 400 million in 25 countries.

Lennon‘s lyrics were deliberately simplistic to allow for wide appeal
to the show’s international audience, and captured the utopian ideals
associated with the Summer of Love of 1967.

Listen up, for once, leaders of the world.

Every day of this summer we go back to the same summer date somewhere in history

Pulse Magazine July, 1996 📸Karen Mason

Grunge legends SCREAMING TREES (1984-2000) fronted by the late great baritone
vocalist Mark Lanegan (1964-2022) released their illustrious 7th and final LP, titled
DUST on 25 June 1996, today 30 years ago.

Kerrang Magazine selected Dust as the best album of 1996. The band toured behind
Dust for nearly two years with former Kyuss and future Queens of the Stone Age frontman
JOSH HOMME serving as a touring guitarist.

UNCUT Magazine said in retrospect: “It sounded – and still sounds – like the perfect evolution of grunge, consciously realigning that upstart music with the classic rock and psychedelia which had preceded it.”
