Irish Rockers OTHERKIN Tackle Sexual Abuse On New Orchestral Anthem ‘ALL THAT REMAINS WON’T BE THE SAME’…

Brand new sonic impulses

5 April 2019

Last month Irish rockers OTHERKIN released stunning new single Thombstone.
A giant musical step forward from their early, raw punk inspired, days. And today
the band launched another new track confirming their fresh adventurous sound
and their ever-present social commitment.

New one ‘ALL THAT REMAINS WON’T BE THE SAME’ is a song written after “the horror stories that emerged of everyday abuse and sexism perpetrated by men of power in all walks
of life. It’s a rejection of anyone who feels they can behave that way and the title itself is a declaration for change, a statement that these vile actions have no place in society today”
explains frontman Luke Reilly in a press statement.

Sonically it’s a tremendous multi-instrumental ripsnorter exploding after the synth and warning siren-like intro into a fully charged groove that moves in different invigorating directions while glowing horns heating up the ardent chorus. Oh my gosh! Otherkin just turned into a monumental orchestra! After hearing this I’m sure you will be waiting impatiently for their second album…

LONDON CALLING FESTIVAL in AMSTERDAM – Stormy Avalanche Of ‘Make Or Break’ Acts…

LONDON CALLING – Paradiso, Amsterdam, The Netherlands – 11/12 March 2016

London Calling is a showcase festival for new bands in Paradiso, Amsterdam. The legendary Dutch club is housed in a converted former 19th century church building. It
was once squatted by hippies in 1967. Almost anybody, from big names to underground outfits, played there. From the young The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd to the Sex Pistols, from Nirvana to Oasis. Twice a year Paradiso hosts a two-day festival, with over 20 bands, playing the Main (1500 cap) and Small Upstairs (200 cap) Hall. The first edition took place in
July 1992. It’s a must see/hear festival for me for years now. Like a fancy fair. You just need a good physical condition to run up and down the venue to catch as many performances
as possible. Here are the six acts I witnessed last Friday, the first day of this 2016 spring edition (11-12th March)…

Glowering post punk duo (quintet on stage) from Iceland having a famous fan with Damon Albarn. Their gloomy sound bring My Bloody Valentine & early Joy Division to mind. Striking!

Psychedelic Madchester vibes colored with bluesy vibrations out of Liverpool.
Waves of fuzz and distortion intensify the whole shebang. To explore further!

Polyphonic five-piece outfit from the Isle of Wight (UK) producing cinematic pop
symphonies carried by touching Flaming Lips harmonies. Impressive birds!

Young Irish punks from Dublin. Steamy and sweaty with explosive force, causing an euphoric stage invasion as they promised before their show when talking to them.

Music: ‘The 201’ EP / singles ‘Ay Ay’ and ‘I was Born’ – on iTunes

Hottest band in town. Amplified garage pop swagger from Brighton (UK). Frontgirl Izzy Baxter is a natural-born star. Charismatic & Kill Bill yellow. Their lucky flamingo calls Jerry.

I follow this international London-based band since day one. Electrifying mix of dreamy power guitar pop with some grungy echoes. Glorious wall-of-sound on stage. Perfect!
