PARTY FEARS Launched Brand New Uppercut Single – Here’s ‘MONEY’…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

15 December 2019

PARTY FEARS is an international duo consisting of Northern Irish-native Maggie Devlin
and Berlin musician Eilis Frawley. After their 2017 self-titled debut LP they focused on writing new singles. At the end of last year they launched snappy cut ‘Sun King II’ and
last October saw the release of racy ripper OK. No Problem’

And here’s their new one called ‘MONEY‘. A swirling uppercut about money being the immoral cause of many social and mental problems many of us experience. The thrilling pair never sounded so punky, so dark and so sharp. This hot-tempered blowup is a sonic middle finger to capitalism, an attack on corporate and political swindle. Fierce stroke!

PARTY FEARS Duo Is Back – Listen To New Racy Single ‘OK. NO PROBLEM’

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

30 October 2019

PARTY FEARS began life in Seoul, South Korea, as the solo project of Northern Irish-native Maggie Devlin. Teaming up in Berlin with musician Eilis Frawley the pair became a powerhouse of genre-bending anthems and joyful-cum-vitriolic punk. After the varied
and vigorous 2017 self-titled debut LP and last December‘s razor-sharp and snappy single Sun King II Party Fears is back.

Although the new single ‘OK. NO PROBLEM‘ is about self-doubt and loneliness the fresh track jumps and bounces forth and back as if only positive energy and a get-up-and-go attitude can beat those downcast feelings. As Devlin explains: “I don’t think loneliness is always sad. It can exist as a kind of frustration or mania. Or even joy. Like a stubborn, contrary joy.” She’s 100% right. Flush all your prescription pills trough the toilet, stand up, get up and go out and dance yourself into a state of mind-pleasing excitement in the streets. It’s definitely worth a try.

PARTY FEARS’ Rage About The Current State Of Rotten Affairs – Here’s New Cut ‘SUN KING II’…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

14 December 2018

Band: PARTY FEARS

Who: “Party Fears was first formed in South Korea by Northern Irish native, Maggie Devlin. Moving to Berlin with former BaekMa bandmate, Eilis Frawley, the band continue to pursue their art-pop meets garage vision with jittery guitar riffs, party shout-outs, and unforgivingly disco drumbeats.”

Pick: SUN KING II – the second single from upcoming EP, entitled ‘Just Friends’

Score: First written and recorded in 2016 this blazing missile has been reworked with two years worth of Party Fears‘ anger, spit and gall behind it. ‘Sun King II’ is “a post-punk scream into the chaos of Brexit and the Trump administration”. The current state of rotten affairs is exactly what this raging ripper is all about. Eilis Frawley‘s agitated drums, singer Maggie Devlin‘s trenchant vocals that cut like a Swiss knife and the overall fired-up feelings of discontent and pain reflect the duo’s razor-sharp view on our troubled planet, led by
vile, narcissistic and populist leaders, perfectly well. Catch the sonic turmoil here…

Pick: DOG STAR – a disco-inspired pop epic about hope and loss says the band…

Score: After their intriguingly inspired 2016 debut album Party Fears returns with
new single Dog Star. A stylish Kate Bush-like score for the dance floor, injected with
a funky vibe, moving elegantly and hiply. Overall graciously crafted and infectiously orchestrated with Maggie Devlin‘s enticing vox shining upfront. Time to activate your
lazy limbs, ladies and gents…

Pilot you came down
Fell from some height
Now you’re all worn out, all worn out

Briefest encounters
Alien cries
Now you’re all worn out, all worn out

And we turn from home
Terra firma far below
Begging for bones

Blood cut from a stone
We’ll never know, we’ll never know, we’ll never know

Diffident heroes
Valiant tries
Yeah, you do all right, do all right

Ask me no questions
Tell me no lies
Cos I’m all worn out, all worn out

And we turn from home
Terra firma far below
Begging for bones

Blood cut from a stone
We’ll never know, we’ll never know, we’ll never know

Say that you’re sorry,
I’ll say it’s all right,
I’m just all worn out, all worn out
