They wring a lot of drama out of a few declarative power chords

Turn Up The Volume: The little bombastic brothers of Nirvana had
to fight to be recognized with their big brothers around. Their debut was
not their best LP, in my grunge book, but (already) showed Eddie Vedder‘s
huge talent as a frontman and songwriter and the single ‘Alive’ still is a
mammoth of a striking song.

amely “Unemployable” — rank with the band’s best, and more importantly,
don’t sound like they’re trying to reinvent Ten or Vs. They’re just strong, catchy,
upbeat tunes. Yes, from Pearl Jam!”

Turn Up The Volume: Always an aural pleasure to hear Eddie Vedder
giving it all, with heart and soul and inexhaustible vitality. But it’s the
Jam by numbers. Too average for these grunge heroes.

PEARL JAM Had (New) Song ‘GET IT BACK’ Available For Only 24 Hours…

Grunge icons PEARL JAM had one of their songs featured on the second
volume of Good Music To Avert The Collapse Of American Democracy,
available for only one day last Friday.

It’s unclear if GET IT BACK is a new song or a track coming from the
Gigaton sessions (their first album in 7 years released early this year).
Anyway it was only available on that compilation on Bandcamp last
Friday for 24 hours, 2 October.

One Live Track A Day Keeps The Doctor Away – Here’s PEARL JAM

Last night – 24 June – several Seattle bands like Sleater-Kinney, Ben Gibbard, Brandi Carlile, The Head And The Heart, Macklemore, and Sir Mix-A-Lot played a virtual benefit concert for All In WA to raise money for Washington state’s COVID-19 relief effort.

Headliner was PEARL JAM. From their separate homes the band played DANCE OF THE CLAIRVOYANTS, a compelling highlight from their new album GIGATON. Eddie Vedder’s daughters were backup dancers, and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer made a surprise appearance.

It’s almost seven years since grunge icons PEARL JAM released their tenth LP Lighting Bolt. Finally, last week, the band announced a brand new album called ‘GIGATON’, out 27th March. More info here.

After the dynamic and funky lead single of the record, titled ‘Dance Of The Clairvoyants‘ the band dropped a new piece titled ‘Superblood Wolfmoon‘ a few days ago. A stormy rocker with Eddie Vedder dominating again with his mighty and passionate vox. Today a cool animated video went online.

It’s almost seven years since grunge icons PEARL JAM released their 10th longplayer Lighting Bolt. Finally, last week, the band announced a brand new album called ‘GIGATON’, out 27th March. More info here.

And here’s the lead single of the record, titled ‘DANCE OF THE CLAIRVOYANTS’.
It starts with a groovy and playful drum/synth intro but the moment Eddie Vedder‘s characteristic and dominant vox kicks in the song’s dynamism gets an injection
while a funky beat evolves in the back. Compelling stroke. Welcome back, PJ!
