From their groundbreaking 1991 masterpiece LP Screamadelica.
Just what is it that you want to do?
Well, we wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do
And we wanna get loaded and we wanna have a good time
And that’s what we’re gonna do (away baby, let’s go)
We’re gonna have a good time, we’re gonna have a party
I saw them myself in Belgium last August, but this version
is way better than the one I witnessed. But hey, you can’t
beat a sign-along audience of 70.000.
Where: KNEBWORTH (UK) Liam‘s massive and biblical concert at the historic
(rock) field confirmed once more that our kid still is
the man for the masses.
Always underrated and underpaid (not only in the UK), despite
the healing and humanitarian/talking therapy work and the unlikely
amount of labour during the Covid-19 period, NHS workers in the UK
are ignored by the unworldly Tories who spend their time with me, myself,
and I rhetoric. They do not care! They force the NHS to strike to get
attention for their unrewarded work.
Pat Cullen, the union’s general secretary: “Hundreds of thousands
of hard-working, decent people should not be cast aside as ‘unreasonable’
for expecting better for themselves, their families and their patients.”
Claire Murdoch (NHS mental health director) Over a million people already
use NHS talking therapies every year, but we know we can help just by telling
them it’s there for them.
Several British musicians, such as Weller, Primal Scream and Billy Bragg,
do care and expressed their support on their social media.
Gorgeous day for a nurses’ strike outside Great Ormond St Hospital. So grateful for their unmatched care & skill. Now let’s get them the fucking pay rise they deserve & that the nation can *easily* afford. Austerity is a choice so change your mind or get in the bin!✊🏼❤️@theRCNpic.twitter.com/LHCotX0soN
Frontman Bobby GillespiePRIMAL SCREAM and Kevin Rowland from DEXYS got together in support of British railway workers with a soul-and-heart stirring ballad named ENOUGH IS ENOUGH after a campaign to fight the cost of living crisis by trade unions and community organisations determined to push back against the misery forced on millions by rising bills, low wages, food poverty, shoddy housing – and a society run only for a wealthy elite.
Info: After a plea from theNational Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers union Twitter account to Dexys’ Kevin Rowland, an amazing collaboration was born between Primal Scream and Dexys to create a fundraiser for the RMT with an original song called Enough is Enough The song was inspired by both the RMT and the nascent Enough Is Enough campaign. As such, all proceeds go to the RMT dispute fund and huge thanks and eternal gratitude go to both bands, in particular Kevin Rowland and Bobby Gillespie, and also to former The Jesus and Mary Chain bassist Douglas Hart for producing a wonderful video.

The accompanying clip is manifest, crystal clear and
expresses the anger and frustration of exploited workers.

Band: PRIMAL SCREAM Active: 1982-present (40 years this year)
Anniversary album: EVIL HEAT Released: 5 August 2022 – 20 years ago
AllMusic: “In the end, it’s as if they just don’t seem to mean
it as much as they did with XTRMNTR, and they just don’t seem
to not care enough as the drug-fueled early days. Still, Evil
Heat delivers.” Score: 3/5.
TUTV: A lukewarm album from one of my all-time fav bands.
But (there’s always a but) it had 3 rad singles (listen/watch below) on it.
Singles/clips: Autobahn / Miss Lucifer / Some Velvet Morning
