Back in time
22 September 2021
Band: PRIMAL SCREAM
Album: SCREAMADELICA
The Scottish rockers’ third LP
Released: 23 September 1991 – 30 years ago
It was the best album of the year for legendary Brit magazines
Melody Maker and Select and #3 in NME‘s end of the year list.
Pitchfork said: “The meeting of unashamed, celebratory club music and rock
star fandom is what gives Primal Scream’s 1991 album Screamadelica its particular
mood, half strutting with confidence, half yearning for transcendence. It’s a full-length
manifesto not just for the brotherhood of clubbing but for the syncretic approach to
rock Primal Scream were exploring.” Full review here. Score 9/10.
Turn Up The Volume: This was the soundbreaking soundtrack
for drug-fueled parties, 24-hour raves, and E-tastic ecstasy.

From their 1997 album Vanishing Point
This radio station was named Kowalski
In honor of the last American hero to whom
Speed means freedom of the soul
The question is not when he’s gonna stop
But who is gonna stop him…

Robert Bernard Andrew Gillespie better know in rockbiz as
Bobby Gillespie was born in Glasgow, Scotland on 22 June 1962.
Happy 59 to the one-time drummer of The Jesus And Mary Chain and later
– in 1982 – the co-founder of the multifaceted, awesome Primal Scream gang
responsible for one of the most inventive and genre-changing LPs ever with Screamadelica, released in 1991. But the Scream nailed many more ace albums
and crackerjack corkers.
To celebrate the primal screamer’s birthday Turn Up The Volume
