SEX SWING – Thundering London-Based Post-Punk Team Blow Your Mind On Record And On Stage

29 October 2023

SEX SWING is a mind-boggling London-based post-punk team
with members of implicitly trusted yet sonically nefarious outfits
Mugstar, Part Chimp, Earth, Dethscalator and Dead Neanderthals.

In 2020 they released their flabbergasting LP,
named TYPE II. Stream it below.

Flabbergasting

A new longplayer is in the making, but before it comes
out SS released a 6-track live album last month.

GRADE A PEANUT SAUCE features 4 smashing highlights of TYPE II. These manic motherrockers put you in a chaotic trance for 44 minutes. Expect blood-curdling, Krautrock-tastic and brain-breaking hullabaloo embedded in a pitch-black pool of
infernal psychedelia.

Artwork album

The album was recorded at Sonic Whip Festival in Nijmegen, Netherlands,
on 6th May 2022 with Otto Kokke of befriended band Dead Neanderthals
on sax.

RELEASE THE BATS

.

Last night the electrifying emotions I experienced with the live album were even more intense when I saw/heard Sex Swing in a dark historic basement (perfect location for them) in my hometown of Ghent Belgium.

They thundered like a bulldozer on the run. Rowdy and hefty with Dan Chandler screaming his lungs out, with saxophonist Colin Webster blowing his lungs out and with the rest of the band developing a trembling Eurostar buzz. Puzzling psychedelia at its blustering best. Wowzers.

Contender For Album Of The Year – Post Punks SEX SWING Hypnotize With Doomsday LP ‘TYPE II’…

18 May 2020

SEX SWING is a London-based post-punk band with members of implicitly trusted yet sonically nefarious outfits Mugstar, Part Chimp, Earth, Dethscalator & Dead Neanderthals. They just unleashed their new ghastly longplayer ‘TYPE II‘. Without a shadow of a doubt
a contender for album of the year. Why?

Because TYPE II is the fitting Doomsday soundtrack for these science-fiction-like times
we live in. Musically as well as lyrically it’s a wall-crushing monster that infiltrates your messed-up, coronavirus fearing mind. A malignant record you can’t turn off once it blasts out of your speakers because its hypnotic and dark-psychedelic mysticism creeps under your fingernails without asking permission and stays there for 39 bloodcurdling minutes.

Don’t we all have an irresistible sense of inexplicable, macabre curiosity for the mysterious unknown, for the dark side of our own deepest thoughts? Just like many of us are terrified of horror movies but watch anyway, so will you listen to this manic powerhouse tsunami from start to finish.

Hell breaks loose from the get-go with slam-bang opener PASSOVER. From there on
it’s a nerve-wracking roller coaster until the pitch-black, satanic, trance-like album closer Garden Of Eden/2000 AD pulverizes what is left over of your last bit of resistance.

TYPE II is a mean amphetamine machine droning mercilessly and bulldozing its way
to your unsuspecting soul. Diabolic grooves, bone-chilling screaming, kamikaze riffage, turbulent bass commotion, cacophonous saxophone, and tons of layers of repetitive rip-roaring Krautrock dynamics with an inflammable impact thundering like a runaway train on a deadly mission. You have been warned.

sonically nefarious outfits Mugstar, Part Chimp, Earth, Dethscalator & Dead Neanderthals“. They release their new 7-track album, TYPE II on 15 May via Rocket Recordings but first
a new cut, the third, from the forthcoming longplayer.

‘Skimmington Ride’ is a merciless killer juggernaut, an ongoing motorik and spine-
tingling Krautrock serpent that moves at the speed of a crushing roller on the run.
Adding a freakish sounding saxophone increases the psychotic resonance. To achieve
the ideal effect of this mental crackerjack it is best to listen to it with the lights off in
the dark, unless you don’t like horrifying music. Hell bloody yeah!

Here’s the hellraiser…
