THE CURE have their long-promised 30th anniversary
deluxe vinyl edition of their 9th album WISH out now.

Yes, the LP with this pop diamond on.

The deluxe edition contains no less than 24 previously unreleased tracks and four
that were previously only available from the mail order-only tape Lost Wishes.

I think, it’s played with great feeling, and To Wish Impossible Things is another gorgeous, melancholic piece. in fact, it could well be my favourite song on the record.”

“In the studio control room it all sounded excellent, but I got too busy sorting out our
upcoming concerts to properly oversee the mastering. It was too late to do anything
about it; the album was out, and we were off around the world again. It has really
bugged for me for a very long time. It has taken 30 years, but finally, my Wish has
come true.”

New-Goth-wave giants THE CURE are on their massive Lost World Tour.
So far they revealed two brand-new songs, called Endsong and Alone
played both in Finland and Latvia.

Two days ago they premiered another one in Stockholm.
AND NOTHING IS FOREVER is a vintage symphonic and
melancholic The Cure lullaby with moony Robert Smith vocals.

THE CURE will make their fans very happy with
a 30th-anniversary edition of their 9th album WISH,
released in April 1992.

Released: 4 May 1982 – 40 years ago today

Sounds (legendary British music weekly) said: “Despite a genuine talent still
at work, Pornography has too much music too cluttered a backing for Smith’s
well-intended observance. He seems locked in himself, a spiralling nightmare
that leaves The Cure making pompous sounding music that is, when all’s said
and done, dryly meaningless.” Score: 3/5.

Rolling Stone Magazine: “Smith is the top howler in pop music now. Bravely, mastering his own literate notions of how bands might do more with postpunk “gloom rock” than just bellyache, he has fiddled around with and fine-tuned the Cure for fifteen years. Since The Head on the Door (1985), when he discovered the joys of groove, acoustic jangle, and any instrumentation that could further heighten the increasing emotionality of his songs, Smith’s work with the Cure has never been less than original, often inspired. Wish lacks the dynamic grab of Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me (1987) and the awesome brooding rush of Disintegration (1989). Yet this outstanding album, like all the Cure’s best music, runs on
its own brash logic, making a virtue of its emotional polarities.” Score: 4/5.
