NOW PLAYING – The Best Ever Debut Album

17 February 2023

THE STONE ROSES
Self-titled debut album
2 May 1989

No fillers, all killers!
Psychedelic groove
euphoria in motion!

Pitchfork wrote: “Exploding the false dichotomy of album band/singles band, The Stone
Roses is a logical, cohesive album made up of incredible stand-alone songs. Brown’s vocals, guitarist John Squire’s intricate fingerwork and mighty riffs, and rhythm section Mani and
Reni’s sly, lockstepping grooves, are a textbook case of the whole far exceeding its components.”
Score: 10/10.

LIVE KICK OF THE DAY – When The FANS Of THE STONE ROSES Want To Be Adored

One live track a day keeps the doctor away

1. The Stone Rosesself-titled album (1989) is
one of the best debuts in modern rock history.

2. The Stone Roses in London in 1994 is one of the best concerts I ever saw.
An awesome buzz from start to finish (even Ian Brown sang in tune).

3. They did some ‘take the money and run‘ tours
between 2012 and 2016. Greedy bastards.

But the fans in Manchester in 2016 didn’t care.
They all wanted to be adored
