hit machine THE KINKS with TIRED OF WAITING FOR YOU.
It appeared on their 2nd LP.
In the US it peaked at #6. Their highest-charting single, tied with
“Come Dancing“, which went to the same chart position 18 years
later in 1983.
Singer-songwriter Ray Davies said he wrote, the music for the song
on the train to the recording studio and the words were written at
a coffee shop during a break in the session.
