Portland‘s electro collective CHROMATICS announced their new album to be released already at the end of 2014 but so far, until last night, no new longplayer. But, suddenly,
a few weeks ago the band shared a cover of the late folk singer-songwriter Jackson C. Frank’s song ‘I WANT TO BE ALONE (DIALOGUE)’ and confirmed to play the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris on 1 November.
And now, suddenly out of the blue here’s, finally, the brand new Chromatics‘ LP, titled CLOSER TO GREY (after a track issued several years ago) instead of the early chosen title ‘Dear Tommy‘. The record contains covers of Simon and Garfunkel and The Jesus & Mary Chain translated into the band’s dreamy textures. After just one spin the feeling is that there’s so much to experience.
