This week mister LIAM GALLAGHER made a bang-up appearance on BBC’s legendary TV Show ‘Later… With Jools Holland’. One of the songs he performed was THE RIVER, one of the rockiest pieces on his new Number One album Why Me? Why Not. Cool thing was that Liam‘s son Gene was one of the two drummers (the one with the hat on).

62 years ago today, on 27 October 1957
Note: Holly is regarded as the artist who defined the traditional rock-and-roll lineup
of two guitars, bass, and drums. He made a huge impression on future great stars such
as Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. Especially John Lennon was a dedicated fan of the unfortunate rocker who died in an airplane crash, only 22. After Lennon and McCartney saw Holly playing for the first time they met and started studying his records, his performance style and lyricism. It’s no coincidence that ‘The Beatles‘ was derived from an insect name because Holly‘s band was named ‘The Crickets‘

Flamboyant funk legend WILLIAM EARL ‘BOOTSY’ COLLINS was born on 26 October, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Happy 68 to a fabulous artist who worked with several other
F Giants like George Clinton and sex machine James Brown. He was inducted in the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, along with 15 members of Parliament-Funkadelic.

40 years ago today, on 26 October 1979, THE FALL released their second LP called ‘DRAGNET‘. Probably one of their messiest, rawest, grimmest and most chaotic longplayers ever with the late MARK E. SMITH spitting and sneering viciously and mercilessly from start to finish. Most of the critics loved it despite the minimalistic
and shrill production. Mark E. Smith and Marc Riley were the only two members of the original line-up who remained after the release of debut LP Live At The Witch Trials
which appeared in March of the same year. The beginning of countless different

After releasing her excellent synth pop debut EP Lustfire last August, German electro artist KAT KOAN already returns with new cut ‘WHITE‘.  

Koan says about the song’s inspiration: “I’m currently on a quest, exploring the many facets
of intimacy, pleasure, and pain. It’s nothing new, I know… but for me, things changed quite drastically after becoming a mother. It’s an amazing process to re-discover certain emotions and feelings now, to get back in touch with my senses and to evolve into a whole new version
of myself.”
