The Wonderful HINDS Drop Another Utterly Catchy Track From New LP – Here’s ‘JUST LIKE KIDS (MIAU)’…

New sonic impulses

The thrilling Spanish popsters HINDS release their third longplayer THE PRETTIEST CURSE next June. The girls already shared three new splendid tracks Good Bad Times , Riding Solo and Come Back And Love Me.

And here’s another new one. JUST LIKE KIDS (MIAU) is an utterly catchy cracker you’ll have on repeat from the moment it’s over.

The song is ‘a cocktail of all the comments and ‘advice’ we’ve had to listen to during all these years in the band. From random strangers, ‘friends,’ and industry. Oh wait, the guy sitting next to you in the bus probably has an opinion too! If you wondered how does it feel to be a girl in a band, here you go’ says the band.

Tune in and dance yourself dizzy…

L.A.’s Firm Rockers TROPE Cover TEARS FOR FEARS With Melodic Vigor…

28 April 2020

TROPE Is an alternative rock band with progressive elements located in Hollywood, LA featuring astounding vocalist Diana Studenberg.. They formed in 2016 and impressed with their debut album Eleutheromania (meaning ‘a manic zeal for freedom‘). Lead-single SHOUT is their take on the 1985 classic by British duo Tears For fears who are still going strong after a successful career of almost 40 years.

TROPE explains what the scream along anthem signifies for them“The song ‘Shout’, to us,
is a reaffirmation of value and strength of our ability to move past toxic situations and people towards the things that help elevate us emotionally and spiritually. I think it also lifts the curtain on how even when times are hard, we should never negate the value of human life. It gives a voice to people who deserve and want to be seen and heard.”

Their cover is a multilayered piece de resistance going forth and back, from hushed and shadowy – think ‘Nothing Else Matters‘ by metal icons Metallica – to towering and exultant with echoes from hard symphonic rockers Nightwish. The imposing, yet crystal clear voice of Trope‘s charismatic frontwoman Diana Studenberg lifts ‘Shout‘ to an overwhelming level. QuietLoudquiet dynamism, melodic grandeur, and thunderous sonority is what you get.
A grand performance that deserves a massive shout out

Daydreamers WOLF & MOON Entrall With Bright Hopeful Single ‘A TAPE CALLED LIFE’…

Daily electricity to load your sonic batteries…

28 April 2020

Traveling folky pop man/wife duo WOLF & MOON received lots of international critical praise for their marvelous 2019 debut album Before It Gets Dark. The Dutch/German daydreamers design bright-coloured humdingers that transfer you to la-la land where you can escape reality for a while. The vivid combination of their delightful voices, synth-scapes and multi-layered orchestrations is a relaxing pleasure for your moody ears.

The pair just released a new single, entitled ‘A TAPE CALLED LIFE’ accompanied by the artists’ message “It’s too depressing to believe that life has been better in the past! “I don’t
want to spend my days wanting all that I can’t chase. Let’s look ahead guys, there is still so
much beauty to be discovered for all of us!”⠀

A Tape Called Life is a sickly sticky pearl, both uplifting and feathery light. Its ardent, melancholic and sparkling tone tickles your aural antenna and makes your thoughts drift away. A welcome relief in these surreal isolation days. Wolf & Moon know tremendously well how to translate the magical power of melodic harmonies into starry-eyed tunes.
No wonder they get international appreciation. The duo speaks and sings the universal language of music. Just beautiful!

French Singer/Songwriter SOMEHOW Stripped Emotive Songs To The Bone On New Live Album…

28 April 2020

SOMEHOW is the musical DIY project of French multi-Instrumentalist Erwan Pépiot.
An emotive, multifaceted artist with an awe-inspiring voice having the timbre of Beirut‘s mastermind Zach Condon at times. An eminent and high-quality songwriter who’s socially committed and around for some time. He released two studio longplayers so far, with
the engrossing Lowtide as his most recent. An appealing alt pop work featuring Aurélie Tremblay (backing vocals and cello).

Pépiot stripped most of the Lowtide tracks down to the bone on a new live album
called ‘Live At La Clef, issued a couple of weeks ago. The sensitive songs now have
a more intimate tone although the emotional drive as on the studio album is still prominently present. My favorite one is ‘Invisible Walls‘. A captivating reflection
on the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean sea, and how human beings are left for
dead by our western governments.

‘Your Future Our Clutter’ by THE FALL – Released 10 Years Ago…

Old and new albums to make your day…

27 April 2020

YOUR FUTURE OUR CLUTTER is the twentieth-eight album – released on 26 April 2010, ten years ago – by the late great infamous Mark E Smith and his ever-changing backing band THE FALL. An overall striking and accessible record with several catchy rockers (O.F.Y.C. Showcase / Bury Pts. 1 + 3 / Hot Cake / Funnel Of Love) and the usual vintage Smith sneers. Not their best, but a classic compared to many other poor releases of that era.

AllMusic said: “This album is going to feature some esoteric references to their previous work along with some other oddball moves that are best appreciated… Too insider to cross over or consider one of their classics, but an otherwise solid Fall effort offering everything fans require.” Full review here

North England Rockers PRYSM Score Hattrick With New Blistering Banger ‘WATCHERS’…

New sonic impulses

27 April 2020

After last year’s excellent singles Turn It Up and Destiny North England’s notable rockers PRYSM nail it again with a new exuberant juggernaut. Three top strokes in a row is like a sonic hattrick!

After a reverberating guitar intro ‘WATCHERS‘ unfolds quickly its high-energy swagger
and vibrant beat. Wah-wah guitars vitalize this blistering banger with psychedelic riffs,
dashing vocals crank up the heat and inject the chorus with full-voiced pizzazz making
it sound like if Liam Gallagher is turning The La‘s into a rock band. Listen closely and on repeat and you’ll agree with me. Anyway, Prysm scores another triumphant winner completing their hattrick. An uplifting stimulus in these troubled isolation days.
