Female Italian Punk Fury SMALLTOWN TIGERS Were Damn Cooking In Belgium

SMALLTOWN TIGERS – Casino Sint-Niklaas, Belgium – 4 March 2023

Uno due tre

Three years ago female Italian punk trio SMALLTOWN TIGERS made
my hungry ears go gaga with their smoking hot debut LP FIVE THINGS.

Turn Up The Volume said: “The raw record explodes from the get-go when the title track
blasts out of your speakers. No special effects, no fancy samples, no endless overdubs. Just imagine The Stooges having an earsplitting fight with The Runaways while the Ramones are sniffing glue in the producer room and you know what is coming your way, straight in the face. Eight firecrackers, eight uppercuts, eight smoking guns, and lots of middle-fingers.”

The punkettes were so kind to do an interview
with TUTV back then. You can read it here.

Last night they played in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium as a support act to veteran punk
legends The Damned. The riot grrrls were on a riff-roaring roll throughout their
scorching 40-minute set. They were just cooking. Gabba Gabba Hey!

The many people already in the venue were flabbergasted and moved toward the stage
to discover this Italian fury. The three awesome Amazons rushed through several killers of their album and a couple of stand-alone singles, played their smashing cover of New Bomb Turks‘ cannonball Girl Can Help It and closed with their blitzkrieg Ramones tribute. Wow! Double Wow! The new Italian roses were damn great!

Here’s an idea of the Tigers fervid live vitality.
