ELLIOTT SMITH, was born Steven Paul Smith on August 6 in Ohama, Nebraska.
He would have celebrated his 54th birthday today. His very sensitive, intimate
songs and his peculiar voice gained him lost of fans and press accolades. But he
shunned the attention. He was a loner. He hated the rock star circus.

He recorded/released 5 LPs between 1994 and 2000.

On 21 October 2003, at the age of 34, he died of two self-inflicted stab wounds to
the chest after a severe argument with his Jennifer Chiba. She pulled the knife out
and called 9-1-1. Smith A possible suicide note, written on a sticky note, read: “I’m
so sorry—love, Elliott. God forgive me.”. R.I.P.
