Unique Theatrical Artist KLAUS NOMI Passed Away 40 Years Ago – 4 Of His Albums Are Reissued Now

KLAUS NOMI, the German countertenor singer known for his extraordinary
vocal performances and unique stage presence, was born Klaus Sperber on
24 January 1944 in Immenstadt, Germany, he quickly gained recognition for his
remarkable talent.

Influenced by artists such as Lene Lovich, Nina Hagen, and Laurie Anderson among others, Nomi‘s music itself influenced big names such as Visage, Gary Numan, and DEVO.

Unfortunately, Klaus became one of the first celebrities
to pass away from AIDS 40 years ago, in 1983.

To remember this unique artist two studio LPs, Klaus Nomi (1981) and Simple Man (1982)— stream both below – as well as the 1983 posthumous compilation Encore (Nomi’s Best) and the 1986 live album In Concert are now reissued.

All four titles are on CD, in digipacks, and standalone vinyl reissues, except for In Concert – the vinyl edition is only available as part of a boxed set of the new reissues. The self-titled debut will be reissued on cassette.
