ago, on 20 November 1971 with THEME FROM SHAFT

It was the theme song to the 1971 crime action film Shaft.

15 years ago, on 10 August 2008, Hayes passed away, only 65.
He was a big force behind famous Memphis, Tennessee soul label
Stax Records. The legend was inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame in 2002
