Daily noise that works faster than any stimulant.
14 December 2023
It’s almost Christmas, so every day Christmas carols/songs are coming in,
mostly covers. But not for Californian act SAVE FERRIS. A band that was formed
in 1995, and became one of the seminal and most beloved outfit from the third
wave of ska.
Yes, they wrote an original festive song, actually their first new
music since 2017 (and more to come). It’s named XMAS BLUE.
Monique Powell (frontwoman): “I wrote the song about someone I knew that went
through a hard divorce, and even two years later was still so obsessed with his ex-wife
that it was borderline stalking. I’m excited to give this present to fans as a warmup for
what is to come in 2024 with all new music that I’ve been working on and is ready for
release!”
Xmas Blue is for everybody who doesn’t like the ever-returning traditional lullabies,
for everybody who wants to dance themselves dizzy around the Xmas tree, for everybody who wants Santa Claus to be a Ho Ho Ho punk for a change, for everybody who’s lovesick.
All needed ingredients are at hand. A ridiculously catchy tune, drum-fueled rhythms, rotating riffs, razzle-dazzle dynamics, and a vicarious voice to fall in love with on the spot.
Your ska Xmas starts here.
