20 years ago, on 9 February 2004, the Scottish guitar pop-rock celebs FRANZ FERDINAND fronted by Alex Kapranos released their triumphant self-titled debut LP making hundreds of thousands of girls faint.

Pitchfork said: “Like all lasting records, Franz Ferdinand steps up to the plate and boldly bangs on the door to stardom. There’s no consideration for what trends have just come and gone.
