I lost track of how many bassists replaced Kim Deal since she left PIXIES. Anyway the most recent one is Band Of Skulls’ Emma Richardson and her first appearance on Pixies music is on these 2 new songs.

Well, actually one new one, a familiar rocker titled YOU’RE SO IMPATIENT and
a cover of QUE SERA SERA, the 1955 song written by composers Jay Livingston/Ray
Evans and made immortal by Doris Day. I love that cover better than the new one.

Mind you, I’m an absolute Pixies fan, but the original burning fire that inspired Black
Francis to write/record/release groundbreaking and unforgettable post-rock-punk music
is extinguished several years ago. Very understandable after 38 years.
