After all these years, we know who the woman is who inspired the late designer
Patrick Nagel for the flashy cover of 1980 album RIO by British glam pop celebs
DURAN DURAN.
The woman is former photo model named Marcie Hunt who was on the cover
of a 1981 issue of French fashion mag Vogue. It was a Nagel fan fan, @nagel_angel
who did the discovery after hours and hours of research. He posted an extensive statement about it on his Instagram account. Read the story below.
When Hunt heard the news she commented “This is so cool! I absolutely did
not know until now that this photo of me was used for the Rio cover. Very exciting!
Love Duran Duran, and danced to their music often in the 80s… and later at
my wedding.”
