THE DARTS – American Female Garage Rock Daredevils Make Belgium Go Boom(erang) Again
21 October 2024
All female US garage rockers THE DARTS are one of the most energetic, exciting,
pizzazy bands around since they dropped their self-titled debut LP back in 2017.
Oh, and they’re also four drop-dead gorgeous Amazons.
On stage, the daredevils display a let’s-fucking-party-tonight ambiance, turning
clubs into sweaty saunas. Last Friday in Brussels the black-dressed ladies played
their 100th gig of the year in support of their new fireworks album Boomerang.
A record stuffed with swirling boosters.
2024 single ‘Pour Another’
As usual voice/face, Nicole Laurenne is the flamboyant attraction. She acts like
a human grasshopper, jumping in all directions, left and right, forth and back, while
hitting her inseparable organ. She’s backed by a stoked artillery pushing the decibels
to almost illegal levels.
Every time I saw the 4-piece gang at work, they impressed ears and eyes with
a non-stop razzmatazz. No brakes, no breaks, no mistakes. Who needs 3-hour concerts (hello, Bruuuuce) when you can get an audience to go bonkers in 45 minutes of rapid-fire rhapsody. Trust me, never a dull moment with The Darts. Hail hail!

THE CRAMPS’ Mean Man LUX INTERIOR Would Have Turned 78 Today
21 October 2024
Erick Lee Purkhiser, better known as Lux Interior (he took his artist name from
a car advertisement), the psycho-billy frontman of clash and crash punks THE CRAMPS
was born on 21 October 1946 in Akron, Ohio. Happy 78 to one of the most charismatic
live performers in rock history.
He met his sexy muse, guitar soulmate, and future wife Poison Ivy (born Kristy Marlana Wallace) in 1972 and they started their garage trash combo The Cramps in 1976. The band released 8 studio albums between 1980 and 2003. The end came when Interior passed away in 2009 due to an aortic dissection. He was only 62.
Keep on rockin’ in the free hell.

TWIN CITY – Britrock Indies Have ‘A SIMPLE MELODY’ For You – A Loud And Clear Unifying One
Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine
21 October 2024
Band: TWIN CITY
Who: Indie 4-piece based in Bristol (UK)
featuring two Welsh brothers.
Track: SIMPLE MELODY
“‘Simple Melody’ is about the power of music and how the right song(s) can bring
us all together in spite of our differences. Inspiration for this tune were artists such
as Lennon, Marley and Richard Ashcroft. With the world the way it is currently we
need a bit of positivity and togetherness in music. Music can heal the world.”
TUTV: This is guitar Britrock with a contagious Oasis flair and a huge wall of sound generated by about a hundred guitars, robust percussion and eager vocals. When
the zippy chorus hits your speakers everything goes up. The temperature, the
fervency and the ardor. Bang-on.
It’s only rock ‘n’ roll as we know it, but we like it, and so does millions of music junkies around the globe. Its come together force is overwhelming, like it happens on massive crowded festivals and works as well just on your headphones on your own. Hail, hail!

[Verse 1]
Sunday morning brings the dawn in
It’s just a restless feeling by my side
Early dawning, Sunday morning
It’s just the wasted years so close behind
[Chorus]
Watch out, the world’s behind you
There’s always someone around you who will call
It’s nothing at all
[Verse 2]
Sunday morning and I’m falling
I’ve got a feeling I don’t want to know
Early dawning, Sunday morning
It’s all the streets you crossed not so long ago
[Chorus]
Watch out, the world’s behind you
There’s always someone around you who will call
It’s nothing at all
[Chorus]
Watch out, the world’s behind you
There’s always someone around you who will call
It’s nothing at all
[Outro]
