Unos, Dos, Tres, Catorce – U2 Topped UK Singles Chart This Day 20 Years Ago With Their Red-Hot Rocker ‘VERTIGO’

Top singles from the past

14 November 2024

Rock giants U2 occupied the top seat of the UK Charts 20 years ago today, on
14 November 2004 with probably their hottest rocker ever VERTIGO. It was one
of the singles from their 11th studio LP How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb of
which a deluxe 20-anniversary edition will come out next week, November 22.

The song’s opening words ‘Unos, dos, tres, catorce‘ translate in English to
some, two, three, fourteen‘. When asked about this oddity in an interview
for Rolling Stone, Bono replied “there may have been some alcohol involved”.

Unos, dos, tres, catorce

It’s everything I wish I didn’t know
Except you give me something
I can feel, feel
