DEZ DARE – Australian One-Man Band Breaks Your Brain With New Blow ‘BRUTALISED ROBOTICS’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

4 February 2025

Artist: DEZ DARE
Who: The musical project of Australian busy bee Darren Smallman (different labels
and different bands) who became involved in the local punk and rock scene of Geelong
in the 90s. He’s now based in Brighton (UK) fabricating stuff in his own studio.

Track: BRUTALIZED ROBOTICS

Piece from his upcoming album, titled ‘CHERYL! Your Love
Shines Down Like A Supernova’s Death’
. Details TBA.

On this composition Dare draws parallels with how humanity exploits technology compared to how they treat all living beasts. What is consciousness? What is success
for an organism? Dominance or longevity? One day all sentients will eventually pry
the foot from their neck.

TUTV: Humankind is on the verge of collapsing in between wars, far-right governments raising up all over the planet and climate change dramas. This and more daily shit came
to mind when this brutal brainbreaker was about to pulverize my headphones.

The shocking combination of paranoid electronics, ruthless percussion, far-out guitars, neurotic vocals and a battering chorus works like a motorized chainsaw. DD nails it. Very loud and very clear.

Wake up people, it’s time to panic.
The lunatics have taken over the asylum.
