Marshall Bruce Mathers III aka massive rap star EMINEM released his
top-tier LP THE MARSHALL MATTERS on 23 May 2000, 25 years ago.

Upon release, the album went straight to number one on the Billboard 200, staying atop for eight consecutive weeks. A significant commercial success compared to the release of The Slim Shady LP a year before. The record sold 1.78 million copies in its first week, which made it among the fastest-selling studio albums in the US.

Its key single Stan, featuring songstress Dido, got no further than #51 in the US, but topped the charts in twelve other countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and Ireland.
