Britpop luminaries BLUR scored their first UK No.1 single with
COUNTRY HOUSE from their 4th LP The Great Escape.

It went straight to the top spot on 26 August 1995, today 30 years ago.
They won the media-pushed battle with Oasis who came in 2nd with
their new single Roll With It

It sold 270,000 copies on day one,
50.000 units more than Oasis did.
