Tanya Donnelly was born in Newport, Rhode Island.
She celebrated her 60th birthday last month, on
July 17.

She started Throwing Muses in 1981 with her stepsister Kristin Hersh,
co-founded, with the Deal twins, The Breeders in 1988, but left quickly
to form her own band Belly.
