You think of your mortality, those moments you could die and what that means. You’re thinking about that edge of the end, deciding whether or not it’s over. Guitarist/co-vocalist Carlotta Cosials revealed the story behind the new video in a press statement: “I thought football cannot be more Spanish and that it cannot be a more male sport, and that it is good to present a different gender-reality without even trying hard. I think sports are such a good metaphor with life,
with goals, passion and suffer.”

The EELS led by singer/songwriter and life philosopher MARK OLIVER EVERETT return with new, 12th album DECONSTRUCTION in April. Ina press statement Everett says about the new record: “Here are 15 new EELS tracks that may or may not inspire, rock, or not rock you. The world is going nuts. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it. Other times you have to try to make it yourself. And then there are times you have to tear something apart to find something beautiful inside.”

IAN MCCULLOCH, charismatic frontman of legendary Liverpool band ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN is just one of the thousands of (famous/not famous) artists who was influenced by the late, genial THIN WHITE DUKE who died two years ago today – on
10 January 2016. This is what McCulloch once said in an interview with Mojo magazine: ““Bowie changed the face of music and the world. Everybody’s got dyed hair or mad clothes now, but until he kicked in ’72, it was rare to see that kind of flamboyance. I was 12 when ‘Starman’ came out and I remember hearing it on the radio before going to school. It connected with me in a way no other ever had. I saw him on Top Of The Pops, it was like ‘bloody hell’. The presence of it. I’ve met loads of people since who say it changed their life as well. He met me a few times (laughs). We supported him as ‘Electrafixion’. He was lovely, looks amazing, I preferred his old teeth though.”
Back in 2012 McCulloch released his fourth solo album, titled ‘Pro Patria Mori’. One of the most enthralling songs on that record is ‘ME AND DAVID BOWIE’. A wonderful tribute to one of the greatest artists/performers of all time. Rest in peace, Hunky Dory…
