THE HORRORS – Finally Back With New Highly Flamboyant Single ‘MACHINE’…

‘Machine’ by THE HORRORS

British darksome rockers THE HORRORS are finally back. Brand new single MACHINE is a slashing industrial knockout, like a boiling jam between Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode with a superb sonic result. Quite different in sound from anything The Horrors did before. A dazzling score! Press the button and taste the rattling force here…

The band is working on their fifth album. Bassist Rhys Webb said earlier about the new work in process: “We wanted to get back in there and get writing. We had a really busy year of touring, so we were ready to get working on new stuff. It’s just because time flies, and it moves so quickly and before you know it, it will be a couple of years between releases” And frontman Faris Badwan added: “Don’t ask me what it sounds like. I could say anything to you now and
it’d sound completely different by the time we finish it.”

ZOLA JESUS – Spectacular Return With Monumental Single ‘EXHUMED’…

Eccentric and innovative American singer/songwriter/producer Nicole Hummel aka ZOLA JESUS will release new album OKOVI, follow-up to 2014 longplayer ‘Taiga’, on 8 September. The new record’s title and content is clarified in a press statement as follows: “Okovi is a Slavic word for shackles. We’re all shackled to something — to life, to death, to bodies, to minds, to illness, to people, to birthright, to duty. Each of us born with a unique debt, and we have until we die to pay it back. Without this cost, what gives us the right to live? And moreover, what gives us the right to die? Are we really even free to choose?” Zola Jesus recorded the whole album in a period of personal traumas.

Here’s lead single EXHUMED. A gloomy tour de force. A truly monumental and deeply emotional eruption. Really special in atmospherics, vision, sound and voice. Gothic opera…

RADIOHEAD – Previously Unreleased ‘OK COMPUTER’ Ballad ‘I PROMISE’ Is A Heartbreaking Beauty…

‘I Promise’ by RADIOHEAD

RADIOHEAD have shared the studio version of a song titled I PROMISE. It’s one of the
three previously unreleased tracks from the OK Computer sessions that will be on the upcoming reissue called OKNOTOK to celebrate the 20th birthday of that outstanding magnum opus. All details here. The track is really a mesmeric pearl, a gripping ballad,
a touching beauty with softly marching drums, tenderly acoustic guitar, emotionally orchestral arrangements, an intensely captivating melody and Thom Yorke‘s vulnerable
and heart-rending voice. A truly epic beauty about regret, hope, sorrow and profound love. The accompanying video is a masterpiece too. I wept when I saw the clip the first time and couldn’t but think about all the innocent victims, hurt families and friends of those awful, recent tragedies in Manchester and London

I won’t run away no more, I promise
Even when I get bored, I promise
Even when you lock me out, I promise
I say my prayers every night, I promise

I don’t wish that I’m strict, I promise
The tantrums and the chilling chats, I promise
Even when the ship is wrecked, I promise
Tie me to the rotten deck, I promise

I won’t run away no more, I promise
Even when I get bored, I promise
Even when the ship is wrecked, I promise
Tie me to the rotten deck, I promise

I won’t fool around no more, I promise
Even when I get bored, I promise
Even when you lock me out, I promise
I say my prayers every night, I promise
I won’t fool around no more, I promise

I won’t run away no more, I promise

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD – Mindblowing Prog Rock Psych Fantasy…

‘The Lord Of Lightning Vs Balrog’ by KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD, the eccentric psychedelic rockers from down under are about to release their second new album – ‘Murder Of The Universe‘ – of a total
of five (!) longplayers this year. A 21-track concept album and they’re sharing it in three 13-minute ‘chapters‘. The first was ‘Han-Tyumi And The Murder Of The Universe‘ and now they’ve shared a second one titled ‘THE LORD OF LIGHTNING Vs BALROG’. I’m not really sure what it’s all about yet, but it’s a spectacular and mind-blowing pych-prog-rock odyssey.
Get ready for the most impressive and weirdest sonic experience of the year so far…

MILLIONAIRE – Impossible To Resist This Staggering Groove From Their New Album…

After 12 years Belgian eccentric singer/songwriter Tim Vanhamel (one-time member of dEUS, Belgium’s best & most notorious band ever) is back with his band MILLIONAIRE
and third album SCIENCING (note: their second, pitch-black & scorching LP Paradisiac
was produced by Queens Of The Stone Age‘s maestro Josh Homme back in 2005). “It’s not
a reunion, it’s a continuation
” says Vanhamel. Anyway here’s my favorite track of the new record. LITTLE BOY BLUE is a mind-boggling, ongoing bass/drums dominated jam that grooves his way, slowly but surely, to an impressive finale. Press the button and join this fascinating trip…

LET THERE BE LOVE….

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
Every time the same question
Every time the same disbelief
Every time the same sadness
Every time the same despair
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
When will the madness stop?
When will the killing stop?

Again so many innocent victims, so many deeply heartbroken families
and inconsolable friends. Violence is an ongoing horror since day one
of humankind. It never ever solved problems and it never ever will…

MANCHESTER BOMBING – Another Inhuman Drama Another Incredible Sadness…

Tuesday 23 May 2017

Violence in the air, damage everywhere
Murder in my dreams, waking up to screams
I just can’t explain the way I’m feeling sad
Hits me like a train, eating me alive

Walking with the beast, walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace, you can’t get no peace walking with the beast

The ghost in other man, his future’s in his hands
Doesn’t know he’s going down, he still alive as he drowns
His pain heals as disease, handsome every time we breeze
Hits some suffering everyone, he’s sucking on loaded gone

Walking with the beast, walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace, you can’t get no peace walking with the beast

DEUX FURIEUSES – Back With Crystal Clear Anti-Establishment Single ‘SILENCED BY THE ROAR’…

‘Silenced By The Roar’ by DEUX FURIEUSES

After last year’s excellent and highly praised powerhouse debut album TRACKS OF WIRE
– one of the best LP’s on my 2016 list – outspoken and socially caring London-based duo DEUX FURIEUSES is back with brand new digital single SILENCED BY THE ROAR. The two vital savages, Ros Cairney (guitar, vocals) and Vas Antoniadou (drums, vocals), clarify the fury behind the fresh, cutting post-Brexit track : “it is about the ascendancy of the English ‘roar’, how we feel increasingly silenced by the government’s ‘Crush the saboteurs’ mentality and let down by ‘piss poor politicians’ who are unable to articulate a response to the failures of democracy and the big issues of our times. The song ends with a rallying cry of intent
influenced by protests we have been part of outside Downing Street
.”

This gloriously noisy and sharply observant tandem realize perfectly that our daily life
is affected by politics, that politics dominate society 24/7. And as dangerous and idiotic politicians rule this troubled world today DEUX FURIEUSES step up – again – and use
their vivacious voice and sonic vehemence to ventilate their justified critical anger and social concern. This is an important band. This is a crystal clear frustration stroke…

If you dance with the devil
You’re gonna get burned
Are you ready for the sound
Of tables being turned?
Enemies of the people
Stand up to hate
Citizens of nowhere
Die at the gate
We’re all just sleepwalking into hell

England has roared
Silence the hope
Red lines are crossed
Give me the rope
We’re all just sleepwalking into hell
Give me some hope
We can break the spell
Just say the word
And we’re hypnotised
This world’s a mess
And we’re paralysed

Trick of the light
Twist of the tongue
Looks like the truth
Is not for everyone

We will not be silenced
We will not be silenced

We’re all just sleepwalking into hell
Give me some hope
We can break the spell
Just say the word
And we’re hypnotised
This world’s a mess
And we’re paralysed

We will not be silenced
By history repeating
We will not be silenced
By racist propaganda
We will not be silenced
By piss poor politicians
The will of the people
Is not what I believe in

COURTNEY BARNETT – New Jingle Jangle Track To Boil Eggs To…

The wonderful COURTNEY BARNETT recorded a new track as part of the Split Singles Club series, a collaboration between Barnett’s own Milk! Records and Bedroom Suck Records. The cool Australian singer/songwriter revealed that: “Technically, it’s an old song. I used to perform it at all the open mics when I was 21. It never got recorded, so for personal-posterity
I updated it and made this version recently when I was bunkered up in the bush doin’ some demos for my next album. In tradition of the Milk! Records compilation releases, I wanted to include a song of mine for Split Singles Club that was a tad left of album-centre. So it’s a songwriting experiment that doesn’t really belong anywhere else.”

Here’s the catchy jingle jangle swagger…
