20 January 2017 – A Black Day For Human Solidarity… Worldwide

trackday1

20 January 2017 – The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum by FUN BOY THREE

amercia

It’s a black day for all of us, worldwide, who believe and understand that solidarity is the
one & only way to survive decently, in peace and harmony, and are now confronted with an Idiot as President of the USA. The 1981 prophecy of FUN BOY THREE has become sad reality today. Shame, bloody shame! But I’ll keep on listening to great music, it helps…

THE LUNATICS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE ASYLUM

I see a clinic full of cynics
Who want to twist the peoples’ wrist
They’re watching every move we make
We’re all included on the list

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

No nuclear the cowboy told us
And who am I to disagree
’cause when the madman flips the switch
The nuclear will go for me

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

I’ve seen the faces of starvation
But I just can not see the points
’cause there’s so much food here today
That no one wants to take away

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum – take away my right to choose
The lunatics have taken over the asylum – take away my point of view
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum – take away my dignity,
Take these things away from me
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum – take away my family,
Take away the right to speak
The lunatics have taken over the asylum take away my point of view,
Take away my right to choose

After Six Years – GORILLAZ Back With New Track… HALLELUJAH MONEY

trackday1

‘Hallelujah Money’ by GORILLAZ – 19 January 2017

gorillaz

After six years GORILLAZ, the greatest cartoon band ever, featuring Damon Albarn, probably the busiest musician ever, and illustrator Jamie Hewlett, is back with brand
new track HALLELUJAH MONEY featuring British singer Benjamin Clementine and
snippets of Albarn‘s voice. The song is a moody, slow-moving ballad about business,
power and humanity. Yes, frightening thoughts on Donald Trump‘s tenure we are
about to suffer, unfortunately. It’s no coincidence that the song is released one day
before that idiot’s inauguration as 45th President of the U.S.A. The creepy images
projected in the clip behind Clementine visualize the troubled days we’ll have to face…

Here is our tree
That primitively grows
When we go to bed
Scare crows from the Far a-East
Come to eat its tender fruits
I have thought that the
Best way to protect our tree
Is by building walls
Walls like unicorns in full glory and galore
Even stronger than the walls of Jericho
Be glad then my friend
That in a few
We shall reap abundantly
What we’d always dreamt of havin
Enough of the starvin
It is love
That is the root of all evil
Not our tree
And thank you my friend
For trusting me

Hallelujah Money
Hallelujah Money

How will we know
When the morning comes
We are still humanz.
How will we know?
How will we dream?
How will we love?
How will we know?

Don’t worry my friend
If this be the end
Then so shall it be
Until we say so
Nothing will move
Ah, don’t worry
It is not against our morals
It’s legally tender
Touch my friend
What the whole world, and whole beasts of nations desire: power

SLOWDIVE – A Spectacular Return With Dazzling New Single…”STAR ROVING”

trackday1

12 January 2017

s10

Legendary British shoegazers SLOWDIVE just released their first new song in 22 years.
In a press message singer/guitarist Neil Halstead says: “When the band decided to get back together in 2014, we really wanted to make new music. It’s taken us a whole load of shows and a few false starts to get to that point, but it’s with pride and a certain trepidation we unleash ‘Star Roving.’ It’s part of a bunch of new tracks we’ve been working on and it feels as fun, and
as relevant playing together now as it did when we first started. We hope folks enjoy it.”
Enjoy it? Wow!  STAR ROVING is absolutely mega! An overwhelming  wall of glimmering guitars floating around a catchy melody with dreamy vocals all over it. Talking about a spectacular return. Here’s the gem…

TEMPLES – Sonic Paradise With New Track ‘STRANGE OR BE FORGOTTEN’…

trackday1

‘Strange Or Be Forgotten’ by TEMPLES

After their dazzling 2014 debut album Sun Structures, British energizing rockers TEMPLES return with new longplayer Volcano on 3 March via Fat Possum. Heavenly harmonic lead single Certainty  was already released a few months ago and now a second new track is launched. STRANGE OR BE FORGOTTEN confirms their new colourful, sonic direction. Infectious, multi-layered psych pop brilliance from start to finish, creating overall a sonic paradise that Beach Boy mastermind Brian Wilson would definitely applaud. Can’t wait to see them (again) in Brussels in two weeks time. Here’s the blissful good vibration

ELBOW – Here’s New BLACK FRANCIS inspired Track ‘ALL DISCO’…

trackday1

Manchester’s daydreamers ELBOW will release new album Little Fictions (their 7th)
on 3 February. Last month they released first single Magnificent (She Says) and
now they shared another new one called ALL DISCO. A vintage Elbow symphony with epic appeal.  It seems the song was inspired by a conversation frontman/singer Guy
Garvey
had with Black Francis, the Pixies’ mastermind as Garvey explained in a video message: “I remember this phrase from Black Francis from the Pixies. I interviewed
him for a radio show 10 years ago in Lynchburg Tennessee. I was talking to him about between him being Black Francis and Frank Black and all these different incarnations. I said ‘with all these different styles of music, where are you going next?’ He said something along the lines of ‘you have punk rock, you have rock, you have blues, you have soul, it’s all disco. And I just love that attitude, from one of the most influential people – particularly to me. For him to have this attitude of ‘put everything into it, invest everything into it, but remember it’s not everything. I think that’s a really good way to do it. He’s not having any money but he
gave us a really good chorus there.”

Here’s the compelling serenade …

THE POP GROUP – Intriguing New Video For Cruel Brittania Single ‘LITTLE TOWN’…

TrackDay1

26 December 2016

popgroup2

LITTLE TOWN is the 2nd single from cutting new Honeymoon On Mars album by the former late 70s/early 80s frantic Bristol funksters THE POP GROUP. Only one of the few bands that really has, after reuniting many years after they first formed, something challenging, highly inspiring and compellingly perspicacious to say in caustic words
and in absorbing sound. Douglas Hart directed the clip and visualized optimally the
song’s content: “The video attempts to capture the feel of towns beyond the big metropolises. Towns that suffer most from the brutal post capital culture we live in now.” The band’s riveting frontman and biting voice Mark Stewart added: “Doug has documented Cruel Britannia, the hidden truly frightening little Britain. Perhaps the real battle for Britain has truly begun.” Seems like we’ll have a post-Brexit walk here…

DEAP VALLY – Smile More To The Bone…

TrackDay1

Hammering Californian duo DEAP VALLY came back this year with a big bang and Femijism, their overall smoking successor to 2013 devilish debut album Sistrionix.
Ass-kicking single SMILE MORE , released last June, made my head moving in four directions but this stripped to the bone live rendition performed for British music magazine NME is another must-hear experience. A different drive and a different
feel than on record. A bare blues injection. Lindsey Troy (guitarist/singer) and Julie
Edwards
(drummer/singer) are two of a very special kind. Going their own way
while doing it their own noisy way. This honest outburst electrifies your senses…

New album FEMIJISM was released last September. Explore it here on iTunes

SEX PISTOLS – 40 Years Ago And Highly Relevant Again Today…

TrackDay1

‘Anarchy In The U.K.’ by SEX PISTOLS

anarchy

Forty years ago today – 26 November 1978 – four teenage brats from the chaotic streets of London released this explosive hell of a soundtrack for a vexed country in deep economic and social trouble. The United Kingdom was a mess back then and sharp observer Johnny translated it brilliantly in the SEX PISTOLS‘ first glorious outburst. It didn’t changed the world nor Brittania yet at that very moment, also because record label EMI dropped the band soon after, but those punks would come back with a vengeance when Rotten wrote that ingeniously sarcastic love/hate song for that ‘she ain’t no human being’ creature who’s still in charge TODAY… 40 bloody years later! An ultra conservative and narcissistic old Queen, not in touch with reality anymore for ages, surrounded by extreme right-wing clowns who convinced a small majority of blind and nationalistic British people to go
back in time, away from Europe, back to the miserable days of the late seventies. Yes, indeed, the island will be a mess again. The knockout power of this terrific Pistols blast
didn’t age one fucking bit. A prophecy fulfilled… again! ANARCHY IN THE U.K.… again!

Right now ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
I am an anti-Christ
I am an anarchist
Don’t know what I want
But I know how to get it
I want to destroy the passerby

‘Cause I want to be anarchy
No dogs body

Anarchy for the U.K.
It’s coming sometime and maybe
I give a wrong time, stop a traffic line
Your future dream has sure been seen through

‘Cause I want to be anarchy
In the city

How many ways to get what you want
I use the best, I use the rest
I use the enemy
I use anarchy

‘Cause I want to be anarchy
