Bubble Pioneers THE FLAMING LIPS Shoot Spectacular Live Video For ‘ASSASSINS OF YOUTH’

Weird coincidence? In recent years, as part of the fairytale-like concerts of THE FLAMING LIPS their wizard-frontman WAYNE COYNE squeezed himself in a sort of plastic bubble and rolled over the crowd while performing a song. Spectacular indeed, as I witnessed myself a few times. Little did the band know they would perform this stunt in 2020, live
for the making of a video, with 100 spectators each in their own bubble.

The short show was filmed at The Criterion in their hometown of Oklahoma City. One of
the songs they played was ASSASSINS OF YOUTH, a magical ballad from their recent, excellent album American Head.

VIOLENT VICKIE Shares Flashy Video Clip For Her Electro Banger ‘UNDER THE GUN

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

25 October 2020

Last month Californian artist VIOLENT VICKIE released
her new, pitch-dark electro-wave album Division.

Turn Up The Volume wrote: “63 minutes of doom and gloom bliss to play
at illegal graveyard parties. Twilight is the color. Electro-swart is the sound.
Petrifying is the psyche.”

To keep the momentum going, Vickie just shared a clip for top track UNDER THE GUN.
“A seductively cold reaction to the pressure to conform and produce in a capitalist society.”.

The flashy film-noir like video was directed and edited by
Nick Pagonakis of Underboss Films and shot in a parking lot
in Long Beach, CA by Jennifer Miller.

REGENT Shares Smoking Video Clip For New Single ‘TODAY’

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

19 October 2020

A couple of weeks ago British rockers REGENT caused goosebumps
with their new single, the passionate power ballad TODAY.

Turn Up The Volume was pretty impressed and wrote: “‘Today’ is a solid gold staggering ballad made to be played in huge arenas with the crowd waving with candles all the way. The passionate blues at play here reminded me instantly of Led Zeppelin‘s timeless titanic score ‘Stairway To Heaven‘. Electrifying emotions going forth and back, going quiet and loud, going from intense to breathtaking and back.”

The band just shared a smoking clip for the song.

SARAH MARY CHADWICK Shares Video Clip For Ardent Highlight ‘LET’S FIGHT’ From Newest Album

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

Early this year New-Zealand singer/songwriter SARAH MARY CHADWICK
released her emotive new album Please Daddy .

Turn Up The Volume was totally impressed: “It’s a very long time since I heard sadness, grief, distress, sorrow, vulnerability and insecurity sound so heartbreaking and so magnificent at the same time. Chadwick‘s voice is just overwhelming and her awe-inspiring mixed emotions songs (all ballads, except the upbeat ‘Let’s Fight‘) have the same profound impact as Nick Cave‘s most heavyhearted reveries. If you feel down, melancholic and alone than ‘Please Daddy‘ will be a comforting companion.”

Now she dropped a video clip for one of the shining highlights, the only uptempo one. LET’S FIGHT is a terrifically catching humdinger, you want on repeat before it’s over.

“This song was written when I was so fucked up I just wanted to fight until someone cried, somehow to feel better. I’m very slowly learning not to.” says Chadwick.

#DumpTrump While Dancing To Powerstroke ‘AMERICAN DREAM’ By TOKYO TABOO

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

29 September 2020

A couple of weeks ago British thunder and lighting noise-rockers
TOKYO TABOO dropped their anti-Trump rant AMERICAN DREAM.

“A steamy stunner with an explosive in-your-orange-face intro kick-starting this
clamorous haymaker instantly with a titanic wall-of-blazing-riff hurly-burly and
deafening percussion slams”
wrote Turn Up The Volume after controlling if
his ears were still intact.

And here’s the video. A both gloriously hilarious and frighteningly reality check
clip. Hilarious because of the way that White House buffoon is portrayed. Frightening because – read the lyrics on screen – of the reminder of his devastating impact on the country he divided fiercely.

And let’s not forget how he encouraged (and still does) tons of far-right bullies and dangerous nationalistic politicians all over the world with his fascism inspired, daily propaganda Twitter show.

Help to share this #DumpTrump clip around the world…

NYC Tramps RICH GIRLS Launched A Film Noir Clip For Their SPRINGSTEEN Cover ‘BORN TO RUN’ …

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

Last July the New York City tramps RICH GIRLS shared their shadowy
version of Bruce Springsteen‘s 24 karat masterstroke BORN TO RUN.

Turn Up The Volume wrote: “I’m pretty sure the band chose this classic cracker with
a specific purpose as the story of this 45-year-old standout – released in 1975 – is highly relevant again in today’s Divided States Of America. Rich Girls do not rock as much as the original, they give it a more haunting and yes, more gloomy timbre. Born in the USA
to run away in 2020.”

To visualize their cover sentiments the band made a film noir clip which reflects
the Signs O’ the Times perfectly with frontwoman Luisa Black eye-catchingly sensual
and sexy in the middle.

Black American People Are Scared – Passionate Noise Rockers ERIIS Share Terribly Relevant Clip For Striking Single ‘TULSA’

Clips that impress eyes and ears

10 September 2020

Last month all female ardent rockers trio ERIIS launched
their jaw-dropping debut single ‘TULSA RIOTS‘.

Turn Up The Volume wrote: “ERIIS is the new, collaborative musical project of three Belgium based passion-rock ladies, Laura Lee Schultz, Naomi Sijmons and Mirabelle Van
De Put.
Their mantra is Chaos, Strife And Discord, their sound is as monumental as the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris (before the fire) and their debut single is nothing less than awesome.”

The tremendously affecting song is about the shocking Tulsa Race Riots that occurred
in 1921 in Oklahoma City where thousands of black people were molested by white trash racists.

A story told from the perspective of a resident who sheltered a black family during the massacre. “They were cold and desolate, I saw them bathe in blood, bathe in blood blisters. Nowhere to go I gave them bread and sheets to rest. Praying on their beds.”

The band just shared a breathtaking clip, terribly relevant again today. Contrary to
what that hate-preaching monkey in the White House says we all know that there’s
a deep-rooted racism in the Divided States of America from the very day that country
was founded.

Black People in America are scared today” said basketball star Lebron James recently.
It’s fucking 2020 and coward killings of black people still happen. DISGUSTING!

Mechanical Roller Coaster – Irish Turbo ARJUNA’S EYE Shares Video Clip For Album Track ‘CORTEXIPHAN’

Clips that impress eyes and ears

11 August 2020

What once originated in Canada as a one-man project, morphed into a
five-headed, Irish-based metal dragon. Last year they attacked the world
with ear-splitting LP Amalgam  (stream below).

Guitarist Conor Nagle about Cortexiphan: “The track as it is now has been
with us as a song for around 3 or 4 years. About 75% of the guitar parts have
been with me for more than 10 years! The opening melody and the chorus are
the newest arrangements, which really make it more thematic and catchy.”

Expect wall-breaking chaos, monstrous guitars, ghastly drum drones, and
barbarous howls. I know, sounds just like today’s reality. Let’s jump on this
mechanical roller coaster and have some Doomsday fun. File next to your
Slipknot records and the soundtrack of Apocalypse Now!

“I like the smell of Arjuna’s Eye in the morning.
