Dream Pop Duo LET’S EAT GRANDMA Cover NICK DRAKE On Upcoming Tribute Album

23 March 2023

On 7th July a new NICK DRAKE tribute album, named
The Endless Coloured Ways – The Songs Of Nick Drake
will be released.

Folk songsmith Drake (1948-1974) was/is an inspiration for many singer-songwriters.
His 3 LPs Five Leaves Left (1969), Bryter Layter (1970), and Pink Moon (1972) were and
still are widely lauded. The trouble artist died following an overdose of amitriptyline,
an antidepressant, aged only 26.

25 covers will feature on the compilation. Involved among others are Bombay
Bicycle Club & The Staves
, Ben Harper, John Parish, David Gray, Craig Armstrong, Liz Phair, John Grant and Irish post-punk heroes Fontaines D.C.

Let’s Eat Grandma

British dream-pop duo is also part of the tribute. They picked FROM THE MORNING.
A characteristic, tender Drake musing. It was featured on his 1972 Pink Moon album.

Jenny Hollingworth from LEG: “I’ve always thought of it as the most hopeful song on Pink Moon and listening to its lyrics about nature showing us the beauty in the light and darkness and how life and death are connected helped me to find acceptance and comfort after loss. Thank you so much to David Wrench for working on it with me.”

Enjoy.

Pet Shop Girls LET’S EAT GRANDMA Praised For Their New ‘TWO RIBBONS’ Album

New longplayers

2 May 2022

Band: LET’S EAT GRANDMA
Who: British art-pop duo featuring childhood
friends Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth
Active: 2013-present / 3 studio LPs (new one included)

New album: TWO RIBBONS
Order info: here

The Guardian (British newspaper): “Written amid grief and separation,
the duo’s third album uses beautiful melodies and Top 40 choruses to consider
their evolving bond.”
Full review here. Score: 5/5.

Turn Up The Volume: Lots of praise for the duo’s new longplayer. I’m not that
euphoric. It’s back to the 80s synth-pop with Pet Shop Boys and Soft Cell, nothing
wrong with that, but the girls’ new record misses massive earworms like West End
Girls
/It’s A Sin or Tainted Love/Say Hello, Wave Goodbye. So I’ll stick with the 80s heroes.

LET’S EAT GRANDMA Wish You A Happy New Year With A Disco Stomper

New striking strokes

4 January 2022

Band: LET’S EAT GRANDMA
Who: Dream pop duo from Norwich UK,
comprising Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth.

Their third studio album Two Ribbons lands in April release.
But first a standalone single called HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Walton: “I wrote ‘Happy New Year’ after a breakdown between Jenny
and me, that lasted for a long period of time, to communicate to her
how important she is to me and how our bond and care for each other
goes much deeper than this difficult time. I used the setting of New Year

as both an opportunity for reflection, looking back nostalgically through
childhood memories that we shared, and to represent the beginning
of a fresh chapter for us.”

2022 starts here for Let’s Eat Grandma
with this disco stomper…

Coming In 2022 – Art Pop Duo LET’S EAT GRANDMA With Their 3rd LP

New longplayers coming next year

27 December 2021

Band: LET’S EAT GRANDMA
Who: British art pop duo featuring childhood
friends Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth
Active: 2013-present / 3 studio LPs (new one included)

New album: TWO RIBBONS
Out: 8 April 2022
Order info: here

Info: “Two Ribbons can be heard as a series of letters between the two of them,
taking the place of conversations as they try to make sense of the rift in their
relationships. It’s a cathartic blood-letting and a devastating realisation about
the fickleness of life. Though it is still very much a Let’s Eat Grandma album, for
the first time there are Rosa’s songs and Jenny’s songs.”
