LAMBRINI GIRLS, the two razorblade riot girrrrlzz – vox/guitarist Phoebe Lunny and bassist Lilly Macieira – from Brighton (UK) with an insatiable appetite for mass moshpits rose to fame like a comet in the past few years.

Following last year’s riot-punk-gun debut LP WHO LET THE DOGS OUT
they went from dusty clubs to big venues, all over the Western world.

This year they already conquered Australia with a series of
sold-out shows and fiery frenzy in North America is coming up

to reclaim who I was. Pause is about finding a way to fully let go and unearth your inner

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

English Britpop survivors PULP started to
do big reunion shows some time ago.

And last year they surprised us with a new album,
named More, their 8th and first in 24 years. Followed,
yes, by a handful of big shows.

Last fall, the band shared an optimum cover of
Johnny Cash’s 2002 gem The Man Comes Around.

It’s now released as a single with two new songs as B-sides.
Marrying For Love and Cold Call On The Hot Line.

The latter drew my attention instantly. It’s a retro-sounding lullaby with
Cocker leaving bizarre messages on somebody’s telephone voicemail.

Jules Batterman (vocalist/guitarist): “Turning 30 made me confront the fact that
I’ve outgrown parts of myself. I Don’t Know You started as a song about looking back
at my younger self and thinking, ‘Who is she?’ It’s also about how time shapes
EVERYTHING.

Sometimes you lose significant people in your life, sometimes you lose who you once were. We are forever changing, as are the people around us, and while scary, it’s also beautiful to think about. I’m now 31, married, still unsure of what I want out of life, and I’m hoping my past self is still proud of the path I’m on now.”

TUTV: Fervid fun throughout. I Don’t Know is a stimulating sonic injection that
accelerates your bloodstream from the kick-off, irresistibly. Layers of fanatical
guitars backed by an unwavering drum/bass tandem, a firework chorus, and a
vocal tour de force match up for a whisked crackerjack. Spiraling girl power.

When in self-doubt, it’s good to know that at the end of the rock ‘n’ roll

SOULWAX, the Belgian brothers David and Stephen Dewaele‘s main project for 30 years now, released their 6th longplayer, called All Systems Are Lying, last year in October.

After the promo tour it got a bit silent until now, and how!
The bros wrote and recorded a new track in just 24 hours
in the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London.

They baptized it PERFECT WE ARE NOT.

It’s a nearly 8-minute electro-spiked brainbreaker echoing, both New Order
and LCD Soundsystem with its motorik beeps and bleeps, perseverance, and
nerve-racking constancy.

Just enough to pass as pleasing and agreeable to everyone.”

TUTV: Sweet Nothing moves and grooves, rattles and rocks, all at the same time.
It’s one of those thrilling tunes that open your ears on the spot. Think avid folk
celebs Mumford & Sons with a punky zing.

The deliriously rhythmic progression, sharp-edged vocals, evolving beat, and
feverish chorus cause a fiery-flavoured stomper. Very tasteful. Hail Jesus!

Cincinnati‘s rock bigshots THE AFGHAN WHIGS (1986–2001, 2006, 2011–present)
released their most recent full-length, their 9th overall, How Do You Burn? in 2022.
It was picked by Turn Up The Volume as the best album of that year.

A couple of weeks ago, they announced new tour
dates to celebrate their 40th anniversary as a band.

To warm us-and-themselves up, they dropped
a new track/single, named HOUSE OF I.

Greg Dulli (singer/songwriter): “Laid this one down in New Orleans
last summer. Was looking for an uptempo banger and feel like we

Chloe Howard (vocalist/guitarist): “Downtown lover came from three chords and
my need to investigate my regular avoidant behaviour within romantic relationships.
I saw the phrase ‘downtown love’ in an article online talking about some peoples
constant need for something new or attention in general when dating.

Through recognising this in myself and in an attempt to try and understand why
I act the way I do, I threw this one out in a matter of minutes on my acoustic guitar.”

American rock luminaries DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE have been playing around since 1997. They just announced details of their upcoming 11th album. It’s named I BUILT YOU A TOWER and will see the day of light on June 5th. Tracklist right here.
