Happy 72 To JOE STRUMMER

21 August 2024

John Graham Mellor, known by the world as JOE STRUMMER was born
in Ankara, Turkey (his father was a British diplomat from Anglo-Armenian
and Jewish origin, his mother was Scottish) on 21 August 1952. He would
have celebrated his 72 birthday today.

The maverick frontman of the last gang in town, The Clash
died, only 50, on 22 December 2002, following a heart attack.

A genuine singer-songwriter.
A genuine loudmouth on stage.
A genuine and caring heart.

A natural-born rock star icon loved
then, now, and forever by millions.

3 big moments to remember the legend.

8 April 1977 – THE CLASH Released Their Self-Titled Punk Masterpiece 47 Years Ago Today

8 April 2024

THE CLASHJoe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon – translated
their social commitment and political discontent into a loud and clear, self-titled classic debut album.

A historic LP and probably one of the most important punk albums ever. A new generation raised its voice. Loud, clear, fast, innovative and straight in the face of the narcissistic, right-wing establishment.
