Last year, British spry black feminist punk-pop trio BIG JOANIE followed their
first-rate debut LP Sistahs with the widely applauded second one Back Home.

Now they’re gearing up for some live dates with a reworked version of TODAY.
A frolicsome tune off that 2nd full length and have the utterly cool breeder and
ex-pixie Kim Deal signing on it.

Stephanie Phillips (1/3 of Big Joanie): “We are immensely proud to presente our new version of ‘Today’ featuring Kim Deal Whether through Pixies, Breeders, or her solo work, Kim has been
a vital influence on us as a band and we’re so happy that she’s become part of the Big Joanie world.

Originally this was a song we were working on years ago that Chardine was going to sing on.
I found the old demo while we were on tour and started writing new lyrics to the music with my laptop balanced on my lap in the tour van. I really love that it sounds like a classic C86 type
lo-fi indie song.”

Don’t wait.
Listen today, folks.

REGENT Shares Smoking Video Clip For New Single ‘TODAY’

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

19 October 2020

A couple of weeks ago British rockers REGENT caused goosebumps
with their new single, the passionate power ballad TODAY.

Turn Up The Volume was pretty impressed and wrote: “‘Today’ is a solid gold staggering ballad made to be played in huge arenas with the crowd waving with candles all the way. The passionate blues at play here reminded me instantly of Led Zeppelin‘s timeless titanic score ‘Stairway To Heaven‘. Electrifying emotions going forth and back, going quiet and loud, going from intense to breathtaking and back.”

The band just shared a smoking clip for the song.

A Stairway To Heaven With Soul-Stirring Stroke ‘TODAY’ By British Rockers REGENT

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

10 October 2020

After bittersweet symphony Time To Loose The Blues and steamy stomper Dirty Little Sinner British rock squad REGENT hit the bullseye again with soul-stirring stroke TODAY. A new piece from their upcoming debut LP Just A Revolution, out in Spring next year.

“I wanted to sit and write a song about heartache and the pain of losing someone. Whether it be a lover, mother, father, sister or a brother…. We all go through low times in our life, and in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted to create an anthemic track that everyone in pain can relate to” says frontman Ben Rooke.

Today is a solid gold staggering ballad made to be played in huge arenas with the crowd waving with candles all the way. The passionate blues at play here reminded me instantly of Led Zeppelin‘s timeless titanic score ‘Stairway To Heaven‘. Electrifying emotions going forth and back, going quiet and loud, going from intense to breathtaking and back.

Think of that goosebumps feel you get when you hear/see something that has an immediate jaw-dropping effect on you. Yes, that’s what happens here. Massive tune, massive vocals, massive sentiments.

Discover Fresh British Indie Pop Band JODY AND THE JERMS – Here’s Their Frisky Debut EP ‘TODAY’…

New sonic impulses

10 January 2020

JODY AND THE JERMS is a fresh trio out of Oxford who formed only last Summer and recently launched their 4-track debut EP called ‘TODAY’. You’ll hear immediately that this three-piece knows exactly how to write a catchy pop song and with the seductive and romantic voice of female lead singer Jody Jeger they have the ideal vocal sensuality.

The EP starts with the dreamy, yet electrical title track Today, then comes their dynamic and punchy version of ‘He Doesn’t Know Me Much At All’, a song by former New York shoegazers named Belltower. Track three ‘Back In The World‘ is an uplifting pop tune
and closer ‘Breathe‘ sounds like if Debbie Harry fronted an indie band. Overall this jaunty debut EP is an effervescent and melodious achievement. Splendid way to start!

Tune in right here and enjoy…
