It’s Already Five Years This Day Since Legend TOM PETTY Passed Away

2 October 2022

Five years ago today, on 2 October 2017, the pure all-around Americana (from Gamesville, Florida) rocker at heart TOM PETTY passed away following an accidental drug overdose.

He was only 66. With his band The Heartbreakers he made 13 studio LPs, solo
he canned 3 longplayers and he released two albums with supergroup Traveling Wilburys (Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Petty).

To remember the legend Turn Up The Volume picked 3 great Tom Petty moments.

New sonic impulses…

5 August 2020

An expanded edition of the late great TOM PETTY‘s debut album WILDFLOWERS
will see the day of light in the near future. It was Petty himself who talked, shortly
before his death about a special reissue as he recorded several songs that didn’t
make it onto the LP.

Petty‘s estate already shared a demo version of the LP’s magnificent single ‘You
Don’t Know How It Feels
‘ last June. And just now a previously unheard track arrived,
the sweet love ballad ‘THERE GOES ANGELA (DREAM AWAY)’.

Golden Voices – ANGEL OLSEN And MEG DUFFY With TOM PETTY Cover

18 July 2020

The wonderful ANGEL OLSEN shared the second edition of her Cosmic Stream show
series, filmed at the Masonic Temple in Asheville. With Hand Habits’s MEG DUFFY she covered WALLS, a mesmeric song by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers’. A track
from their 1996 album that became the soundtrack of the movie She’s The One

The golden voices of Olsen and Duffy send shivers down your spin. Emotion-charged, impassioned and moving. You’ll go silent and press repeat a couple of times.
Breathtaking!
