DEATH IN VEGAS – Psychedelic Techno Producer Drops The Trippy Title Track Of His New Forthcoming LP

New striking strokes

3 April 2025

Act: DEATH IN VEGAS
Who: The musical project of English producer Richard Fearless who launched his psychedelic electro run back in 1994. Since then, six albums were released, with
a star cast – Iggy Pop, Liam Gallagher and Bobby Gillespie to name a few – to deliver
vocals.

New album: DEATH MASK
The 7th one, ready to be unleashed
on June 6th. Pre-order info here.

Album artwork

Fearles: “Some of the gear I use has a tendency to take on a life of its own — for example,
the Effectron delay, which Arthur Russell also used. It was feeding back on itself, and ended up sounding like a radio conversation — literally voices from within the machine. On the Echoplex, the tape has never been changed. It’s eroded by the hands of time. When you record over the tape, things bleed in from what was there before, like people from the past.”

Following first single While My Machines Gently Weep
Fearless comes up with another vibey thrill.

It’s the title track DEATH MASK. A trippy, ambient, full instrumental jam,
fueled by non-stop circling drum beats, quickly bouncing in your head.

Fly high.

PUP – Combustive Candian Punks ‘GET DUMBER’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

31 March 2025

Press photo

Band: PUP
Who: Fulminant punks from Toronto
who are gearing up for their 5th LP.

Track: GET DUMBER

New cutting cut from their forthcoming album, called Who Will Look After The Dogs? that comes our way on 2nd May. It features Long Island songsmith Jeff Rosenstock.

Stefan Babcock (frontman): “We recorded the vocals together, in the same room, facing each other. What that means is, we both had to nail it at the same time because we couldn’t really cut between takes. On the first take, he forgot a line in the second verse and said, ‘Ahhhhhh, lyrics’ instead. I couldn’t finish the take because I was laughing too hard. Anyway, he practiced singing the correct lyrics but then we decided those lyrics kinda sucked and he should just stick to ‘Ahhhhhh, lyrics’ because it’s funny and the song is called Get Dumber. We nailed it on the second take.”

Wake up people, carefully,
these punk pups bite.
