FLORENCE + THE MACHINE , is the moniker for singer/songwriter Florence Welch
who started the project back in 2007 with keyboardist Isabella Summers who actually was the architect of F+TM’s sound, and guitarist Rob Ackroyd, drummer Christopher Lloyd Hayden and harpist Tom Monger. For several years the act is centred around Welch.
This Friday album No. 6, named Everybody Scream will be released.
But first, we get titillating taster number three SYMPATHY MAGIC.
Welch co-wrote and produced the song with two very different collaborators,
the National’s Aaron Dessner and lauded dance-pop adventurer Danny L. Harle.
The result is a juggernaut of an orchestral pop saga.
The accompanying video will impress your eyes.
At the very start you’ll see Welch bare naked from the back for 5 seconds.
So it’s marked as age-restricted. OMG. All over the Internet media show horrible images/video’s from the wars in Gaza and Ukraine on a daily basis, without any
age-restriction. As usual hypocrisy rules.
Press info: “The trio inject a serious dose of relatability, not to mention catchiness
into hardcore’s penchant for toughness and brutality on their new Epitaph album.
Vocalist Ciaramitaro‘s desperate, snotty howl rides roughshod over thrash-leaning riffage as rhythms bounce in a big way. If you’re picturing the Pacific Ocean waves that rise and fall along the coastal town, occasionally violently so, you’re not far off.”
Sammy Ciaramitaro: “Straight up, no one is having more fun than me
when we’re up there. The vibe of it is, enthusiastic, hectic. Stagediving,
kids going berserk. It’s a great vibe and I think people pick up on that.”

Drain do their thing loud and very proud. You don’t see a hardcore
team that focus on positivity, hope and non-stop fun in life, every day.
The loudmouths just dropped the LP’s 4th grenade. SCARED OF EVERYTHING AND NOTHING is a hectic,
metallic crossover monster slam. Think Beastie Boys do Rage Against The Machine or vice versa.
No rest for the sleepyheads.
Chop. Chop. Chop.
Whack. Whack. Whack.

Yesterday BOB MOULD who was born on October 16th in Malone, New York celebrated his 65th birthday. And he had big news. After three decades, he returns with his band SUGAR, which he formed a couple of years after Hûsker Dü called it a day.
Mould: “SUGAR was a meteorite. I spent all of 1991 writing and performing new material
at solo shows. David (Barbe) and Malcolm (Travis) had never met but I was certain we three would work well together.
SUGAR was a workhorse. After weeks of rehearsal in early 1992, we spent three months recording Copper Blue and Beaster. By summer 1992, the musical climate was perfect
for what we created.
SUGAR was a phenomena. No one could have predicted the results. We held onto the wheel
and did our best to enjoy the wild ride. SUGAR was part of a pivotal era in popular music, and
a special time in my life.”

Boston‘s metal freaks ICE NINE KILLS, are big-time entertaining
creep-clowns since 2000. So far, they fabricated/released 6 LPs.
And they’ve no intention to go away. They just dropped
a new Batman ’89-inspired haymaker THE LAUGH TRACK.
Spencer Charnas (frontman): “Why be a brooding bat when you can have the last laugh? After all, Jack Nicholson got top billing in Batman ’89. While Michael Keaton’s haunted Bruce Wayne is outstanding, young Spencer was drawn more to the Clown Prince Of Crime. Batman ’89 took its comic book material seriously, but it was far from grounded, and never forgot to have fun. It’s the same tightrope we walk in Ice Nine Kills, with broad, maniacal smiles.”
Wake up and GRIN, all you
metal junkies out there.

Metal giants LAMB OF GOD from Richmond (Virginia) are producing gargantuan pandemonium since 1994. They satisfied their fans with 11 LPs, so far. The most
recent one Omens came out in 2022. Radio silence since then.
But they’re back in the thunderdome arena now with new earsplitting single SEPSIS.
Mark Morton: “It’s a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn The Priest in 1994. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.” “

Artwork new and final album
Californian thrash metalheads MEGADETH are one of those musical institutions that
have been around for ages. In their case, since 1983, and they’re ready now to finish their impressive career with a final eponymous LP out on 23 January 2026 and a farewell tour.
Dave Mustaine (co-founder, frontman and primary songwriter): “There’s so many
musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.”
We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world.
I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.”

Band: AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside) Who: Weathered high-volume veteran goth rockers
from Ukiah, California who started to turn up the
darkwave decibels in 1991.
Press info: “For more than three decades, AFI has been a band in a constant state
of reinvention. No album they’ve released has sounded much like the one before it, sometimes dramatically so. The band has never gotten too comfortable in one genre
or allowed themselves to coast on any successes.”
TUTV: AFI still are besotted with the early The Cure days,
then again on the chorus they’re their own fanatical
Goth-esque again. Sky-scraping mindfucker.
