Brand new sonic impulses…
26 October 2018
When 90s Madchester icons THE STONE ROSES announced their reunion back in 2011
I, like many other countless fans, expected them to release, finally, a new smashing album to confirm once and for all their brilliant debut longplayer wasn’t a one-hit wonder. We all thought wrong. They only came back to cash in big time by playing huge stadiums and big self-organized events. They gave us hope again with two new songs (Beautiful Thing / All For One) a couple of years later but actually ended up in fucking Wembley Stadium in London.
And now out of the blue, the Roses‘ frontman IAN BROWN returns announcing his first solo effort in over nine years, entitled RIPPLES, with three of the songs co-written with
his sons, who also play various instruments across the upcoming record. New first track FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS just arrived and already split fans’ perception. Some think is worth 0/10, others rave about it. After one spin I had actually no idea at all just what to think. Now that I heard it several times it keeps on ringing in my ears. It’s an irresistible earworm. You know one of those simple tunes that go on forever and ever and stick for
a very long time like first-class glue. Check it out here…
