This day 54 years ago, on 6 August 1965, THE SMALL FACES released
their splendid debut single ‘WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT‘. It peaked
at #14 on the UK Singles Chart. Key members Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane
wrote the song’s melody, which was inspired by Solomon Burke‘s hit Everybody
Needs Somebody To Love.
