British rowdy rockers FALSE HEARTS formed in 2016, released their rough deburt EP ‘Dirty Little Soul’ in 2018 and its single ‘Cynical Love’ appeared on the soundtrack of slasher movie Strangers 2: Prey At Night. Great way to start your musical journey!

Now the band is gearing up for their second 4-track EP called ‘REMEDY‘, out on 3 April. Ahead of it they dropped new single ‘MISERY LOVES COMPANY’. A nasty motherrocker
of a song. An explosive quietLOUDquiet steamroller with a titanic melodiousness and with charismatic frontwoman and vehement voice Emma Hodgson leading the noisy troops and detonating when the rip-roaring chorus blows out of the speakers. Argentinian psych pop duo LAS KELLIES will launch their fourth album, titled
‘SUCK THIS TANGERINE‘ next month. Last December they dropped lead-single
‘Funny Money‘. Although it’s a song about our society being in a never-ending
crisis, it swings and shakes like a solid gold dance floor killer.

And here’s a second new piece. ‘CLOSER‘ is a funky, bass-driven pop humdinger
spiced with an avalanche of contagious guitar lines and the duo’s seductive and
sensual harmonies. Another gorgeous tune making you long for the new album.

Score: I know it’s early in the year but ‘Mind Hive‘ is the first great LP of 2020. This imperishable post punk squad made a multi-faceted record with a ravishing mix of vigorous rockers (Cactused / Primed And Ready), gloomy grooves (Be Like Them / Oklahoma), moody reveries (Unrepentant / Shadows / Humming) and the spellbinding stunner and also my favourite piece, the almost 8 minute tour de force called Hung. Young musicians should listen on repeat to this compelling and versatile longplayer and take notes.

Last year Kentucky rockers CAGE THE ELEPHANT released their fifth successful longplayer ‘Social Cues’ with fervid opening track ‘BROKEN BOY’ as one of the
highlights. The band has just shared a reworked version of the song featurig living
legend IGGY POP .

Cage the Elephant frontman Matt Schultz said about the collaboration: “[Iggy is] such a pioneer in so many fields: lyrically, culturally, poetically, visually, musically, and stylistically. Only a couple times in your life do you have the opportunity to share a moment with a
visionary and beautiful human as he is.”

Belgian indie rock trio VVYNN (read : win) made a firm impact with their first two
EPs. Crumble in 2017 and Lux released last year. Last December the band returned
with two new tracks ‘Exhale’ and ‘Moaning’ with the first one being my favourite as
‘Exhale‘ reveals the most clearly this ambitious three-piece’s great sonic step forward.

It’s a tower of a song reminding me of PJ Harvey’s‘s electrifying intensity, her spine-tingling voice and her opinionated and astounding way of writing songs. Yes, ‘Exhale‘
is equally mettlesome, exhilarating and lifelike with frontwoman Angie‘s fervent vox
shining as never before. Top stroke!
