DAVID BYRNE was born in Dumbarton in Scotland today 69 years ago, on 14 May 1952.
Two years after his birth he moved with his parents to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. When
he was 8/9 years old the family traveled to the US to go and live in Arbutus, Maryland.
Of course, he’s most famous as the singer/songwriter and face of legendary band
Talking Heads (1975–1991). Afterward, he went solo and has released so far 10
albums solo including 3 collaborative LPs (2 with Brian Eno and 1 with St. Vincent).
Turn Up The Volume! picked three – not really obvious Byrne tracks,
but great ones anyway – to celebrate the Singing Head‘s birthday…
– I SHOULD WATCH TV –
(from 2012 album Love This Giant album with St. Vincent)
– LISTENING WIND –
(from Remain In Light – 1978)
– HOME –
(from Everything That Happens Will Happen Today – 2008 album with Brian Eno)
