Electronic Extravaganza With MECHANIMAL And Friends On New Album ‘LIVING WITH ANIMAL GHOSTS’
26 January 2022
(Press photo – capture by BB)
Band: MECHANIMAL
Who: A modular band from Athens – Greece, an industrial project, a
unique collective of musicians and video artists, recording in various
permutations and staying true to the original roots of post-punk
melancholy.
New album: LIVING WITH ANIMAL GHOSTS
To celebrate their 10th birthday (with 5 studio albums on their shelves)
Mechanimal invited friends to remix their beloved M track.
Mechanimal: “We thought it would be interesting to ask our friends or fellow
artists to choose their favorite Mechanimal song and remix it, edit it, or do as
they wished, according to their own sound and style. We provided the raw material
to them and each gave us back a new song, for Mechanimal’s 6th album. For us,
it’s an honor, as well as extremely touching, for musicians to open a dialogue
through our music with their music.”

New Albums 2022 – ‘ANGEL IN REALTIME’ By Avid Aussie Rockers GANG OF YOUTHS
26 January 2022
Band: GANG OF YOUTHS
Who: Indie star rockers from Sydney, AUS
Active: Since 2011 / 3rd LP coming up
New album: ANGEL IN REALTIME
Release: 25 February 2022 – order info here
Info: “The album is about the life and legacy of Dave’s father, indigenous identity, death, grief and God. And also the Angel, Islington. Although the album is eclectic – influences range from American minimalism and contemporary classical, to drawing upon the legacy of Britain’s alternative/indie scenes, from drum ‘n’ bass to the most transcendent moments of Britpop – it’s equally rooted in Le’aupepe’s Samoan heritage, with the majority of tracks featuring samples from David Fanshawe’s recordings of indigenous music from the Polynesian islands and the wider South Pacific. ‘angel in realtime’ also features contributions from a cast of talented Pasifika and Māori vocalists and instrumentalists.” (Rough Trade)

After last year’s ominous Götterdämmerung debut album
Nebenkörper Vlimmer returns with two astounding tracks.
– ERDGERUCH –
(Landslide)
Electro-power-pop with that characteristic theatrical darkwave fervency
you can twirl yourself totally giddy to. So while we wait for the end of the
ruthless corona pandemic let’s dance ourselves into a state of liberating
delirium.
.
– SPACE DEMENTIA –
This highly feverish slo-mo belter blew my mind on first hearing.
The immense intensity and the overpowering vocality send shivers
down your spine from the kick-off until the wall-of-synth sound finale.
Awesome! Fantastisch!
