THE HP’S Encourage People To Get Up And Drive Their Funky Soul With ‘HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN’

Daily electricity to load your batteries

7 April 2022

Band: THE HP’S
The name pays homage to James Brown’s legendary band, The J.B.’s
Who: Soul/funk orchestra from Hamilton, Canada.

Featuring Claire Davis, and The Northern Soul Horns.

Mike AKA Parkside (bandleader): “On my fortieth birthday, I was charged with taking care of Sharon Jones during the Supercrawl music festival in Hamilton, Ontario. Sharon and I bonded quickly, the events of that night inspiring this song’s lyrics. Groovy, fierce, and driving, “Hope To See You Again” subtly references Sharon and The Dap Kings’ original song, entitled “Nobody’s Baby.”

This is what I need right now to clear my head in these troubled times, a feel-good/better/best soulful funk energizer. This enlivening retro dandy pumps up
your adrenaline production immediately. Its revitalizing effervesce triggers your
body actions. Top voice, hot Northern Soul horns, and warm 60s organs all
contribute to this uptight (everything’s alright) tune.

People get up and drive your funky soul,
says mister James Brown
