Band: JOCKSTRAP
Who: Electro art-pop duo Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye out of London
Work: Debut EP Love Is The Key To The City released in 2018 and a
couple of singles since signing with Rough Trade Records last year.
New single/video: CONCRETE OVER WATER
A spectacular twist and turn trip with Ellery‘s story-telling vocals and Skye‘s
architectural skills with electronics. Sounds like a synth symphony by
the Mael brothers duo Sparks.
Georgia Ellery: “‘Concrete Over Water’ was written on a Summer’s night
in 2019 in a flat in Farringdon which was above a pub, and above a train line.”
About the video: “The clip is co-directed by the band and Eddie Whelan. The place hummed when the trains went under. The video was born out of the celestial themes in the song. Eddie and I created the characters (Moongirl, Voyager, Magma Boy, etc.) to explore the feelings of wonder, inspiration and the search for answers, to reflect what the song represents to me.”
