This day 50 years ago, on 12 August 1972, the Michigan-born freak creep
ALICE COOPER topped the UK Singles Chart with SCHOOL’S OUT.

Vincent Damon Furnier (his real name) claimed that the song was inspired
by responding to the question: “What’s the greatest three minutes of your life?”
with the following two answers. One: “Christmas morning”. Two: “The last
three minutes of the last day of school.”
In America the single hit #7.
