THE NATIONAL Feat. BON IVER Release Vintage Musing ‘WEIRD GOODBYES’

New striking strokes

23 August 2022

(Info about the event here)

Three years after their 8th LP I Am Easy To Find,
Cincinnati combo THE NATIONAL are back in business.

They invited their close friend, Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon (not the first time)
for some vocal assistance on the brand new single WEIRD GOODBYES.
So far only rumors about a new longplayer.

Berninger: “It’s about letting go of the past and moving on,
then later being overwhelmed by second thoughts.”

The song features a string arrangement by Bryce Dessner,
performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra.

Aaron Dessner (co-founder of the band): “I somehow could hear our friend Justin [Vernon]’s voice and heart in this song from the beginning. We sent it to him and it moved him – he then sang with Matt so powerfully. I was misusing drum machines, as usual, and stumbled onto this beat that got stuck in my head — it felt like something only Bryan [Devendorf] could naturally play. We built the song around the beat. Matt’s melody and words felt so elegant and moving from the beginning — mourning a loss of innocence and motivation, holding onto memories and feelings that inevitably slip away and the grief we all suffer in weird goodbyes.”

Weird Goodbyes is vintage The National. Moody, melancholic, bluesy, and instantly
touching. Warm vocals by crooners Berninger and Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon.

Here’s the audio/ lyric clip.

Metalheads HEARTS & HAND GRENADES Hit Hard On Cover Of RAG’n’BONE MAN Blockbuster Hit ‘HUMAN’

23 August 2022

Artist: HEARTS & HAND GRENADES
Who: Towering American hard rock group from Buffalo, NY
fronted by Stephanie Wlosinski on lead vocals and bass guitar.

These thunder and lighting metalheads have guts. Covering Rage’n’Bone Man‘s
global 2017 blockbuster hit Human (more than 715 million streams on Spotify)
isn’t without risk, but they nail it with their speed-up, cast-iron, and riff-insane take.
A totally different beast. A hammer blow with a grenade explosion impact.

I’m sure a duet of Rag’n’Bone‘s killer voice and the titanic pipes
of frontwoman Stephanie Wlosinski‘s would shock the world.

Metal junks are human too…

Two years ago Leicester’s rock heroes KASABIAN fired their flamboyant frontman Tom Meighan after he got convicted for assaulting his girlfriend (afterward, they got married).

The band’s songwriter Serge Pizzorno, who occasionally
sang Kasabian songs in the past, is the new vocalist, on the
brand new LP, baptized THE ALCHEMIST’S EUPHORIA.

NME and Serge Pizzorno sat down for an
extensive interview about the past and the future of the band.

“The aftermath of Tom’s departure was like trying to pick up the pieces of your life”

“Our earlier years were beautiful and always will be, but that was then and this is now”

“The band wanted to carry on. What else were we gonna do?”

“Liam Gallagher’s always been beautiful to us. There’s nothing but support and love.”

“There’s some beautiful things on the way. The album feels great and we’re really happy”

Madchester Garage Punks BONES SHAKE Knock You KO With Their New Blasting Album ‘BLEED’

Standout longplayers

23 Augustus 2022

Band: BONES SHAKE
Who: A scuzzy, fuzz enthused garage rock trio formed in Manchester in 2011.
They play everything to the extreme; violent bottle-neck blues riffs, drums kicked, pounded, and exploited, and squeals of reverb drenched vocals which when
combined, will help save your soul.

New album: BLEED

Bones Shake: “Bleed is a regurgitation of sins, regrets and remorse. Bleed came
about over lockdown; we broke everything apart and tried to put everything back
together again afterwards. We tried adding a bass, a second guitar: none of it
worked but trying those things it inadvertently changed the sound, it became
bigger, more urgent, more primal. It was us against the world again”

Turn Up The Volume: What to expect? Raw can your pussy do the dog cramps
with bad-ass tuned guitars and demonic howls (Hey Hey / Bleed ). Raw stooge power delivered with I wanna be your dog teeth (Unwell / Psychotic & Sweet). Gloomy Jon Spencer blues (Give Me Something / Cold Heart) and a psych-o-billy garage blast (Come Home).

Release the Madchester bats.

Waking Up With… Dynamite K-Pop Idols BLɅϽKPIИK

Works faster than caffeine

23 August 2022

South Korean K-Pop Team BLɅϽKPIИK are gearing up for their second album,
dubbed Born Pink. It’ll make their millions of teenage fans happy on 16 September.
It follows their 2020 debut The Album.

K-Pop is not for mature rock grown-ups, like me. But wait, the first single off the LP took my eclectic ears by surprise. PINK VENOM is a peppy R & B rap flash, sounding like a juvenile Spice Girls version, but with even more swagger.
