Screaming ELLIOTT SMITH Tribute Album ‘IT’S RAINING IN MY HEART’ For ART FOR AID Out Now

Standout longplayers

19 October 2022

Canadian indie label NO FUNERAL is committed to promote honest+passionate art.
It releases sound and visual works designed to provoke thought+feeling. It’s the home
of many screamo-metal-hardcore-punk artists.

The label just released a brand new, pretty singular, album via Bandcamp (only available digitally). A tribute to the late great singer-songwriter ELLIOTT SMITH who still influences many of today’s songsmiths. He took his own life in 2003, at only 34 of age. R.I.P.

The project is a beneficial one. All proceeds of this collection will go to Art For Aid,
a Canadian organization that works to connect Indigenous youth to art and knowledge
of their culture.

I don’t know if there are many screamo-metal-hardcore-punk fans that like Elliott Smith and vice versa. What I do know is that, whatever music you like, you should open your mind and your ears for this imaginative compilation initiative showing that PASSION is
the keyword for music, whatever the genre. Pop, rock, punk, rap, metal, reggae, folk, whatever, when an artist lays his heart and soul in what he does he’ll find an audience, great or small.

That said, here are the 13 bands that scream their lungs out, some in a soft and
moody way, in honor of Elliot Smith, a true legend. (Click on the names for more info).
