Who: A singer-songwriter-musician from Los Angeles, CA. From the local lineage
of bands like X, Germs and The Gun Club to the glamorous poverty of the streets
of L.A. Clover is inspired by the city that raised her and she explores the intricacies
of self-discovery, self-creation and self-preservation, in the city where dreams are
born to die.
Just a couple of weeks ago she released new single You’re Phone’s
Of The Hook. A brisk head-over-heels rockin’ ripper. Check it out here.
And earlier this year she recorded, featuring Warren Thomas, a cracking
cover of Nancy Sinatra‘s classic THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING .
Her glorious take is pretty special. Its rotating rockabilly riff brings The Cramps
back to live and injects the classic with a psychedelic vibe. But there’s more to it.
Midway a reverberating six-string creeps into the song, here and there I hear
sultry echoes of a 60s Hammond organ and Clover sounds as sensual as 60s
icon Nancy Sinatra. Top version.
Tomorrow Clover plays at the Badlands Festival in my hometown of
Ghent, Belgium. I wouldn’t mind if she walked with her boots all over me.

Matt Sorum is best known as former drummer of
Guns n’Roses and celebrity band Velvet Revolver
with Slash.
He’s also the driving force behind another supergroup named, how inventive,
the Rock N Roll All-Stars who changed their name recently to KINGS OF CHAOS,
had different line-ups and so far no releases except for a Deep Purple cover. This
is gonna change as they just announced their debut longplayer, but don’t hold your breath, it’ll come in the Fall of Winter 2023.
Anyway, guitar freak Slash and fellow Guns n’ Roses mate, bass player Duff McKagan returned to the Kings of Chaos and co-wrote with Matt and Dave Kushner this smoking motherfucker of a sledgehammer called JUDGEMENT DAY

All Music wrote: “While mostly accurate, dismissing ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ as merely a series of loud, ragged mid-tempo rockers with a harsh, grating vocalist and not much melody would be a terrible error. Already anthemic songs are rendered positively transcendent by Johnny Rotten’s rabid, foaming delivery. His bitterly sarcastic attacks on pretentious affectation and the very foundations of British society were all carried out in the most confrontational, impolite manner possible. The Pistols paved the way for countless other bands to make similarly rebellious statements, but arguably none were as daring or effective. It’s easy to see how the band’s roaring energy, overwhelmingly snotty attitude, and Rotten’s furious ranting sparked a musical revolution, and those qualities haven’t diminished one bit over time. Never Mind the Bollocks is simply one of the greatest, most inspiring rock records of all time.” Score: 5/5.

All killers, no fillers. Massive machine gun protest killers, thanks to Glenn Matlock‘s
sticky tunes, fueled by Steve Jones‘ awesome riffs, Paul Cook‘s hammering power and
last but not least, the man in the middle: Johnny Rotten!
Without his unique, piercing sneers, biting lyrics, viciously staring eyes, and his charismatic appearance the Pistols would have been a far less memorable animal. I just loved his guts, his performance, and his early visions!
Unfortunately Johnny Forgotten turned into a conscious parody of himself with a pathetic ‘the whole world is against me’ attitude throughout his whole career and I’m a Donald Trump fan. Really sad.
